Abatacept and changes to hearing

Has anyone experienced this? I had my first jab yesterday morning and a couple of hours later my hearing went wonky and it’s continued to be odd. Difficult to understand as I am already under ENT/maxillo for TMJ in one ear but now the other ear has joined in. Feels full, ringing, and it’s gone partly deaf. Sounds to me as I’ve got my finger in my ear when I talk. I can feel movement if I tip my head. Just coincidence? Don’t worry I’ll check with a medic but just reaching out. Thank you.

I haven’t had any hearing issues I can attribute to Abatcept sub-cut. I have had temporary tinnitus if have had to take oral anti inflammatory capsules (Nurofen). I hope it all goes back to normal for you.

I had this issue with adilimumab (sp). Felt like I was being poked in the ears with hot pokers! Had ringing, and went a bit deaf.

Did you have to stop the drug or did it clear?

I stopped it as also had blistering alongside.

You're welcome. Hopefully it's a side effect that will go away for you.
