Has anyone tried low-dose naltrexone for RA?

Hi all,

I’m wondering if anyone has tried LDN for RA and if so, your thoughts? I’ve read it has been used off-label to decrease inflammation.

Thanks,

Helen

if you put that into the search box and filter for NRAS then all past posts about it will come up.

Oooh, something I am interested about too. I know it's hard to get a gp to prescribe this, so may need to go private route? Someone I ' speak ' with on another forum is trying to see if it is suitable to use alongside her other meds for RA and fibromyalgia.Seems a lot more available in the USA as far as I can see.

Way back in the mists of time I looked at this for my daughter, who has ME ( sadly totally misunderstood medically but likely to be inflammatory/autoimmune). I think there was a pharmacy in Glasgow who could supply it, but I’ve no details I’m afraid and it was quite some time ago. The GP just said ‘no’. I still wonder about it although!

I just happened to end up sitting next to Monica Bolton at a conference. You probably have all this information already, but here’s a link to what she has written about it:

Thanks! It sounds promising. If I do try it, I’ll report back..

There is a specific LDN clinic based in London, if you still want to look at their website? I have not looked too closely so obviously cannot recommend this myself in any way, but it may help anyone make a careful informed choice of to ask them further questions.Actually I too had heard about a single pharmacy base in Glasgow quite a few years ago!

LDN does seem to be used for some people with fibromyalgia in the USA.
