new mtx pens and bruising

Hi, I used the new style pen this week and have bruised! I sometimes got a little mark but this is a proper bruise. Anyone else experienced this? Ive been injecting mtx and Benepali for a few years now so don’t think it’s my technique 🤔

I nearly always bleed and bruise with the normal metoject pens but I haven’t used the new style pens.

Only used 2, but no problems, but I bruise sometimes anyway

No problem with new pens so far, used to bruise occasionally with old methotrexate ones. Also bruise sometimes with Benepali pens, have found them the worst of any I have had to use so far. Hopefully it is a one off for you.

I bruise the first time with anything new then it’s fine. Wait and see if ok next time? I think we press harder and more insistently the first time as it’s new?

it’s just luck if you bruise or not, you can’t see everything under the skin so you might catch something or you might not. I often bruise and it’s often still there the next time I inject. It’s just one of those things.

Hi sometimes I’ve hit a blood vessel and had bruising but it’s worth it for the benefit.

Had light mark but I'm finding them awkward to use need to get used to them I think.

Yes!! I bruised really badly for the first couple but last 2 have been better. Proper big bruises rather than the smaller ones I sometimes got with old style. I have found injecting in stomach has had better non-bruise success but that might just be a fluke as not done enough new style yet to be sure!

I found I bruised on the thighs, but no bruising on the stomach. So I always do stomach injections now.

Yes, I find the new ones sting and leave bruises on my legs but not so much on my spare tyre.
