Mthx pens: Hi-- is there any special procedure to... - NRAS
Mthx pens
Hi Jackie08, my husband is a diabetic and carries insulin pens in his hand luggage along with other meds. He also has a letter from his doctor to say that he is diabetic. I imagine his pens are similar to MTX pens and it is also useful to have the doctor's note in case of any problems. Hope this helps.
Thanks Jean jack -- going next week and only just occurred to me to check x
So are we. Off to Egypt for a week on Tuesday. Looking forward to some warm sun, good food and relaxation. Happy holidays!
Lol--- we going to Sharm on Friday! ! 😎
We will be in Hurghada at the Palm Royale Soma Bay. Fabulous 5* star hotel so looking forward to the best.
Not jealous at all Jacki lol! Both, this link explains about travelling with MTX pens metoject.co.uk/wp-content/u.... Might be an idea to check with the airline too if you want to be ultra sure.
Right, now the sensible bit, do remember to be careful in the sun, higher factor sun screen than you'd normally use pre MTX, cover with lightweight clothing & at the first sign of burning no more sitting directly in the sun. I was ultra careful whilst living abroad but last year here was caught out sitting in the garden, for the first time ever I had sunburnt legs & I've never burnt before ever as I tan easily, h always says I only need to look at the sun & I'm tanned.
I hope you have a lovely relaxing time & see lots snorkelling. Oh & did I say I'm not jealous at all?! x
Thanks for that mnh--- I love lounging about in the sunshine but will heed your words. I do always apply lotion every hour but will do so with higher factor. My nurse ( well not just mine!!) - has said it's ok with mthx but hydrox that reacts to the sun. As I'm on both I will be more careful--- don't want to hide under a brolly though with a glass of water for 10 days!!!lol.
The number of people who have said"""" oh so you are going abroad then-- all your aches and pains will dissappear """!!!!!!!!!ggggrrrrrrr😈
All I can say is I stopped HCQ in 2009 & just have MTX now so.... , been on both together like you & it is a written up re MTX as well so I'm not sure why they'd say that, just google sun & low dose methotrexate & have a quick look. On HCQ I found I needed sunglasses, Rayban's were my best friend & was never without at least one pair. There's no doubt the warmth makes your joints feel easier & being in the sun lifts the mood anyway but if it's humid I found it a real pain, literally. Just keep it in mind & you'll be fine. If your liver results have been fair to middling & if you'd like the odd drink of an evening then do, it's your holiday after all just don't get sloshed. Do remember to relax after all that! x
Yep , mtx in hand luggage with dr note. I keep it cool with Frio pack, you get them on the internet. You soak them in cold water and they keep meds at fridge temp for about 48 hrs c. Then just steep them again ! Great if u go somewhere u don't have a fridge. I can't remember however if mtx needs to keep cold so maybe superfluous advice ! Also if they r cold and you are delayed the airline will put them in a fridge and you collect them from the fridge before boarding xxx have a wonderful holiday. I'm very jealous xx
