Well it wasn't good news yesterday. I found out it i had arterial stenosis and my valve was blocked. So i am a lot worse than i thought, mind you i really didn't know how ill i really was. The consultant showed Bob and i my MRI scan that i had and he explained what had happened to me. He also explained what would happen when i get the surgery. He is sending me to Walsgrave in Coventry for the surgery and there are two letters going there as the cardiologist i saw first had referred me and the one i saw yesterday was the senior cardiologist and it is him who is sending a second letter to get me referred asap. I will have to have a ct scan as well to brief the surgeons in Coventry. He was really lovely with me yesterday .
I don't think i have fully taken in what is happening to my body. I know i am very ill and scared as i can't do anything and i mean anything at all. This is something like i have never encountered before and it just goes to show you never know what's round the corner. I have been ill for a long while and i have been getting worse for over two years since sepsis. To make matters worse it had been picked up on my blood tests since 2018 and it was thank to a couple of drs. in my surgery this year that anything was done. Well something is being done now.
Thank you all for your concern about me. Now to another Christmas photo for you pleasure. Have a lovely day. xxxxx

Darling thatβs a shocker and no mistake. You really are one hugely positive lady and have kept going with good humour: and you will weather this too. You will need time to take it all in but how marvellous that you have been diagnosed finally and can be treated. If you need a visitor when you are in hospital to offload too just say! Hope you have a lovely Christmas. Keep us posted!
Are you going to get replacement valves?I know itβs scary but now you know whatβs going on you can look forward to feeling a lot better soon. Dear Bob must also be worried, so stay positive, enjoy Christmas and look forward to better health next year. It is a shock but knowing something can be done is good really. Youβll get through this with good humour and get the hair and nails done first. Have a lovely time, and best wishes to Bob. PS how is he as he wasn't too well?
So sorry to hear how bad you really are, hopefully your surgery will happen ASAP. it must be really frustrating that it wasnβt picked up in your 2018 blood test. At least you know now something is going to be done.
Oh wow! They've found out what the problem is now and have a way forward planned. I'm not surprised you're feeling anxious, anybody would. Let's hope all goes ahead soon. I wish I could wrap you and Bob in a huge cloud of care
ah bless you at least you now know what it is your going to be fine and feel so much better when itβs all done wishing you all the very best πππ
Awww Sylvi not what you wanted to hear but let's hope you get your surgery ASAP (I'm guessing valve replacement). Thinking of you and Bob and know that we are here when you need to offload your stress. Look forward with positivity to 2024. And still you think of others with your lovely Christmas pictures β€οΈβ€οΈ
Oh Sylvi what a shock for you, well do absolutely nothing, just take it easy adhering to all the drs advise. Have you got your grab bag ready to go in at short notice as Iβm guessing this will probably be the case. I prey they get you in ASAP so you can focus on the other side to get well in the new year..
Love the Santaβs jolly & bright, take care, silly to say try not to worry as anybody would but just try not to. βοΈππ Big Hugs xx
Oh Sylvi. I am so sorry but you are now going to get the treatment and surgery that will make you better. I am sending lots of love and healing hugs to you and Bob and your family. God bless. ππxxx
π«π« To you and Bob, sorry it wasn't better news for you. It's amazing what the docs can do now and although it's not great, at least you know and they can do something for you. I hope the surgery is soon enough that you can be on the road to recovery before you know it but not too soon that you're not ready. Will be thinking of you, hope you get to enjoy Christmas. Lovely photos BTW. Much love Wafflefan. β₯οΈ
Oh Sylvi, itβs good to hear they have finally diagnosed exactly what is wrong but Iβm not surprised you are feeling shocked and scared!! Try and rest as much as you can over Christmas and fingers crossed the appointment at Coventry is asap!!
Thinking of you Sylvi and your amazing positivity. Hope you have happy times over Xmas, and that in a month or so youβll be feeling much better. Thanks for all your lovely pics X
What a shock! The operation will make all the difference to you so let's hope they get you sorted quickly. Sending positive Christmassy vibes to both you and Bob π
What a huge shock this big news must have been Sylvi! Though you did feel so unwell for so long that I hope that a clear cause for feeling that poorly gives you some clarity. Sounds like you really really must take it easy to give time for that clear treatment pathway to get started. You have brought such joy to me and so many others on this group over the years. We really love you! If I had a magic healing wand I would waft it over you and Bob right now. In its absence I hope you feel the powerful force of prayers for healing that are coming your way. May the blessings of the Christmas season fill your hearts and home and give you both strength and courage for what lies ahead.
At least now you have a proper diagnosis and plan of action. Gird your loins Sylvia and keep your natural positivity going. Let's look forward to how much better you will feel after you get the surgery and treatment you need. Enjoy your Christmas and look forward to the New Year xxπ
if it is any consolation Sylvi, my dad was in Walsgrave for heart issues and they were brilliant. He lived a further 15 years and was at my wedding a fortnight after the op. Brilliant folks then I expect even better now! Chin up my lovely happy Christmas to you and Bob xx
Hi Sylvie and Bob. I am so sorry to hear of the huge disappointment you have had with that diagnosis. A valve replacement is likely what will be done for you. We know of friends who have had this done and they are doing marvellously. In the meantime, while you wait, be kind to yourself and let others do for you.
sending hugs Sylvi try to put aside this for Christmas (tough to do when breathing is hard) and enjoy yourself as much as possible as we all know you love this time of year π₯°
So sorry sylvi that it's not the news you hoped for. However at least now you know what you're fighting and you have an army of clinicians, family and friends, specially on here, fighting with you. Reading the replies on here it sounds there is light at the end of the tunnel and with your positive spirit that a huge plus, just never give in or give up. Hope you and Bob have a good Christmas and all love for a healthier 2024. xx Joy
Love your photo it really cheered me up, sorry to hear what you are going through. Feel in the wars a bit myself as I had a bad fall outside today. Ended up going full length on the cold wet concrete. Said to the ambulance man that I was well padded because of my coat and my derriere! I decided mid fall that if anything was going to hit the ground 1st it was going to be that and pretty damp quick! Battered bruised snd embarrassed with a soaking wet derriere is not a good look!
