Going on holiday to Skegness

Well it is nearly six am and i have been down here since five because of pain in my body.My fingers hurt like hell and i can't grip very well and when i try to my fingers hurt. My neck is permanently sore now and my lower back is awful especially when i am on my feet. The toes that i had operated on in June are still sore especially when i am on my feet.

I had blood tests last Thursday and Friday morning my doctor rang to tell me i was right that i am anaemic. So he sent a script to the drs and darling hubby went and got it for me bless him. Yet here i am four days later not feeling much better yet. So thank goodness we are going away from everything for a rest. I am dreading the journey there and back and in between as well. My back doesn't like humps and bumps.

We come home next week and it will be straight down the hospital for rheumy apt. about my ra and all the pain i am in. So i hope this post finds you all as well as you can be and love and hugs to you all.xxxx

Morning my lovely have a wonderful break away and hopefully the bracing sea air will do you good. I am quite new to this forum but it has already helped me realise I am not on my own and just how debilitating and life changing RA is. I was diagnosed last July so still early days for me although it started in my hands I now have it in my ankles knees shoulders jaw elbows and wrists but I try and keep positive. Although I am on methotrexate (6 weeks now) which they added to hydroxy I am partial to half a Guinness now and again it’s good for the iron levels !!🙈. Enjoy and keep me posted😘

Let’s hope they can help you at your next rheumy appointment but after 16 years of having this awful condition you have probably tried most things. I hope your hubby enjoys the break too. We are hoping to go away in Oct and my hubby and I are looking forward to it x

Skegness Butlins was a family favourite when I was a wee child. Great memories.

I am so sorry to hear that Sylvi: trouble is I find a lot of the pain meds don’t really work that well for this & no idea why or what’s actually causing it because often no obvious swelling. Hope you’re able to enjoy at least some of your hols ....Skegness is so bracing! ☺️ I’ve only had it just over a year n it gets me down at times: 16?! Absolute trouper xxx

I hope you get a welcome rest in Skegness and you get some answers when you get home. We’re in south west Scotland in our caravan until Thursday and then off to Northumberland on Thursday. Generally I feel better when I’m away, but on Tuesday my bad ankle gave way and I came a real cropper. I have a multicoloured knee and a badly swollen left hand!

Where abouts are you staying in Northumberland as when we go upm there we stay at Whitley bay. So far my body is behaving i have been in agony since we got here. It is raining here at the moment so i am not sure what we will be doing today.xxxxx

We had torrential rain in the night but it’s fine now. We’re going to be staying near Hexham but plan on visiting Whitley Bay and other places on the coast. Our dogs love running on the beach, and depending on my feet, I’ll be either joining them (but definitely not running!) or watching them from the car! I hope you have a better day today.
