A fan blowing on the affected parts? Distraction - music, bird watching, reading, company?

Hope it's over soon. This is usually a good site for skins:dermnetnz.org/topics/pityri...

This may sound weird , but I got rid of it in two weeks by going to a sunbed every day for short sessions. I didn’t approve of them before but it totally worked. My doctor told me it could be months covered all over in unsightly welts that everyone stared st and I was desperate to find something to clear it up. I found a YouTube blogger who did this and followed his recovery. Mine was bad but completely disappeared in two weeks .

the NHS website lists UVB light therapy as a possible treatment. I have an undiagnosed torso rash possibly linked to chronic rheumatoid conditions or gluten intolerance but GP doesn’t know exactly. I made the decision to use the steroid cream Dermovate that was prescribed to me for Lichen sclerosus and it helps me.

Have you recently had a Flu jab? I had a terrible rash all over my torso that my GP told me was “heat rash”….in January!!

Eventually my rheumy nurse at the time suggested it could be a Post Viral rash after my Flu jab….I had a biopsy & she was right. There was no treatment needed..…it just disappeared of its own volition. My dermatologist said sunlight might help.

Now, after the annual Flu vaccination I get a ‘shadow’ rash for a week or two. Nowt so strange as rashes!

I’m 61 and not on meds or considered vulnerable but last year was offered flu jab with covid booster. I had the rash for many years prior to this but my RD symptoms have been much worse since the flu and final covid jab, when my symptoms flare, the rash is worse. Could be coincidence but better than getting flu or covid. Also this year has been very stressful and I’ve been unwell with new symptoms, tests and ‘scopes ongoing to rule out or discover cancer but I don’t think the rash is related to that but routed in my RD.

Don’t blame everything on RD…..a lot of very minor conditions cause rashes that come & go whether someone has RA or not….just brushing against some plants can cause a rash!
