The doctor has been to see me and very nice she was too. She listened to all what i said and she gave me a good check over. She has given me some antibiotics and her next words WERE " YOU HAVE TO REST" in plain English i have done too much and now i have to take it really easy .

Sorry to hear you have had the Dr., I hope you rest and rest a long while. Your body needs time to recover. I have had a chest infection all over Christmas. I had a course of antibiotics . Chest infection gone but still very short of breath. Been back GP and now on a course of steroids , which leave me with the shakes, when I need my next dose. I'm having to take my time to recover and that means rest. I know how you feel my kids are always telling me rest.

Sending you and hubby hugs. XXX

Well what a surprise...Sylvi overdoing things! NOT!

I think your DH will have to get some velvet handcuffs & attach you to your chair for a month.

You may shout instruction.....but DO NOTHING!

Plrase do as your doctor says.....we don't want you writing to us from hospital!

Dearest Sylvi. Im sorry you are in this situation. Sometimes we (I mean me,but dont think its just me ), need to be told to rest by a medic, and its almost like being given permission to rest. As ive said before, it seems we are quite a 'driven' set of people. One of the main areas of tension between me and my husband is about resting ... or not mainly. Now you must, as you know, rest. No one else can do that for you. By resting Sylvi you are looking after those around you because then they wont worry so much. Let them care for you as you would for them. Take care. I look forward to hearing how rest has helped even tho we know its not a quick fix it does contribute hugely to our wellbeing both physically and emitionally. Ok end of rant. ☺

Well for one thing my dh is a lot calmer and he sounds just like yours who worries about us and wanting us to rest. I think if i hadn't had such a bad day Thursday i wouldn't have called the dr yesterday. I woke up yesterday realising there was something terribley wrong with me. ...xxxxxx

I got myself a jigsaw in December as I was finding knitting hard and I couldnt concentrate to read, im hopeless at stopping so I thought about doing a jigsaw. It has been a good thing and quite a talking point over Cmas. Finished it a couple of days ago. If I knew how i would put a picture up of it. Im going to get another one. Just a thought as you may like to do one also Sylvi.

Yes my husband ssys as he leaves for work....and your job today is....and we both say not to over do it. Its hard as he still works with severe copd. He was told to stop working 10 years ago. However he does now have a lot of time off sick. Take it easy ☺

As my dh has retired he is watching me constantly. I have taken the Sat. mag across the road and the Hello one next door and that is only so i can get some fresh air and he was outside taking the lights down so if i fell he would be there straight away. I do have my wordsearch book and my colouring books and i do patience on the laptop and the newspapers to read, but as to doing anything i think who would jump on me like a ton of hot bricks.xxxx

It's so hard for a busy person to be told to rest isn't it? Please be kind to yourself, Sylvi. Big hugs

Hi Sylvi

I haven't replied to any of your posts before. A couple of months ago I was also told to rest - very difficult- but thought the jigsaw was a good idea, did one myself over the Christmas break and once I started I didn't want to do anything else.

It's really hard to do isn't it. I don't think anyone wants to be chained to a couch or bed.
