Yes. I was put on this in 2005 and it is still working now. I went from struggling to lift a coffee mug or use the remote control to skiing, cycling and gardening. I hope it works for you. I started on Humira and was switched to Amgevita when the generics came in.

I've been on methotrexate since last October then Emma's diagnosed with inflammation in my sacroiliac joints too in April so moved onto amgevita in June I've not felt anything yet. Since starting the injections I'm now currently in a bad flare up of my ibd and my eyes are really bad currently waiting on an urgent colonoscopy

It's been a long old slog took them 9 months to get the inflammation under control in my colon then spread to all my joints now its back in my colon and I'm having problems with my eyes

Hi. I was diagnosed with RA 4 years ago following a full body flare that lasted several months. I managed to get some relief by being prescribed hydroxychloroquin and methotrexate but still had some pain and inflammation particularly in my knees and ankles. My consultant then prescribed Amgevita in addition to my existing meds. The results for me were life changing and within 6-8 weeks I had no pain or inflammation, so could slowly begin exercising to rebuild my muscle strength that I’d lost by being inactive. I’ve had no side effects from the Amgevita that I’m aware of- unlike methotrexate where I had terrible nausea and some hair loss to begin with.

Almost 3 years on and it’s still working brilliantly … so much so that I’ve been able to halve my methotrexate dose.

Fingers crossed it will work well for you 🤞🤞

Hi Liz,

I've been on Adalimumab (Amgevita, together with Methotrexate) since the middle of March this year, and it's definitely helped me a lot.

Prior to that, I was taking Methotrexate and Hydroxychloroquine, but having to have steroid injections and take steroid tablets (Prednisolone) to deal with my symptoms. The last steroid injection I had was in February, and the Rheumatologist told me it stays in your system for 3 months, so it's been working fine for me May.

I will say from my own experience that it may take you a few months to get your strength and fitness back. Best of luck!

Yes I am on both. It took 5 months for the adalimumab to work but it's made all the difference.

I’m on methotrexate injections and started Amgevita 8 weeks ago and can already see a massive difference- hardly any joint pain and stiffness. No side effects. I had needed 3 monthly steroid injections and haven’t had one since April. I was taking Naproxen everyday and haven’t had any for the last 6 weeks. I’ve still got a couple of finger joints that are swollen and won’t bend fully but it’s still early days.

My hair had thinned and won’t curl ( it’s naturally curly) on oral methotrexate but that’s beginning to come back too
