Metoject pen problems

Recently I have had problems with these pens. One was hard to click initially and then they both spurted on to skin rather than injected. I have used them with no problem in the past. I know not to try a second if first has not worked as that risks overdose.

I have reported to my pharmacist and Metoject.

Has anyone else had problems or have I lost my technique?

I found the Benapali pens dreadful; hard to press down and so painful so asked to change to a syringe. It is so much easier and painless.

You can get faulty batches with any pens, I’ve had it on Benepali and metoject, it’s good you’ve reported it to them.

I had to return 2 recently. They just wouldn't work. I think they have tweaked the mechanism, they certainly don't act as previously, and I have been using them for 10+ years

I have had one not inject properly and it skirted out everywhere, made a mess to clear up. Reported it . Good luck with the next lot.

Hi, yes, I also have had problems with the pen (for Benepali). Once it didn't inject properly and I got the liquid over my leg. But most of the time it just gives me terrible bruising, no matter what I do to try to mitigate this. I used to have a different type of self-inject pen with Amgevita - it was far easier and more comfortable to use. I didn't think about reporting it, but seeing the suggestions, I think I might do this.

So far pens have been fine, used them a while now. Did experience some content residue left on my skin, so slowed down my system of injecting them.

My problem is not always having strength in my hands they're the most damaged part of me due to RA and OA. So now I take my time removing the end and placing them on the site, if needs be I replace it on my skin till it feels firm on the site. Then place thumb on the release button again making sure it's on there fully. So far so good, in my case I think I wasn't as diligent as I should have been, in taking my circumstances in consideration.

Still good to feed back as never know if a batch is problematic.

I’m not on Metoject anymore but was for 10 years and had a few faulty ones in one batch. I reported to the hospital pharmacist who sent a report to the supplier.

Yes - I had the same issue twice in a row . Did everything as normal but the actual liquid spurted out all down my tummy . Took both back to my local pharmacy and they were exchanged straight away

Guess it was a problem with that particular batch
