Metoject

I had my first Metoject injection last Saturday. I felt awful all weekend and then, on Tuesday, this happened - see pic - I went to A& E and they really couldn’t have cared less.

I have Tocilizumab and Metoject injections weekly. Has anyone had antibiotics that shifts sinusitis? I know we're limited to which antibiotics we can take, but this is really not fun. I know we can't fight infections very well with these pesky meds. 😏

Im also having terrible problems with these new style pens, either hurt so much or the liquid runs out. Im going to have to speak to GP's tomorrow, im not happy at all and old style ones were fine.

I just did my first new style metoject jab. Its simpler to do, more like an eppipen , which is a good thing. However it did 'hurt' more as it went in ,kinda sharper, like when they take bloods. Also ive just noticed that i now have a yellow patch under the skin at the site where i did it .

Hi, I have been injecting the new style Metoject pens into my upper thighs. They are causing huge bruising/ injection site markings for weeks and one thigh got infected which has scarred. I know the alternative is to inject into my belly fat but I really don’t fancy this.

Am on methotrexate metoject, and nothing else but one cocodamol and naproxen. My symptoms, especially pain, stiffness and fatigue seem to be worsening. But I can't figure out where the symptoms are coming from unless the fibromyalgia is making everything worse?

Nausea was getting worse,despite being on 6 folic acid a week and metoject rather than oral ( have existing g gastric problems ) Rheumy nurse said consultant suggests swopping to LEF so,typically my swelling and pain levels have improved quite a bit the last few days on the mtx!

I had to stop all of my meds (Tocilizumab, Metoject and Sulfasalazine - along with other bits and pieces) about 4 weeks pre op, and I've only been back on them for one week - 2 weeks post radiotherapy. Just over 4 months off Tocilizumab and just under 4 months for methotrexate.

hi all, What, if any, has been your experience of the new style metoject pens? I have only used two of the new ones. On the plus side they’re smaller and easier to handle but boy do they sting!!

I have 2 injections: 15mg Metoject and Tocilizumab. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any top tips? I haven't come out with blisters yet, I am hoping it's been caught early enough. The tiredness has floored me though. Oh, and BTW - I work in a primary school. I'm back in on Monday.

I think the Metoject is to address the RA. The steroids seem not to make a difference. So, this morning I took 9.5 mgs, intending a very slow taper down to 9mg (all being well). It's at this point I become confused.

Back in August i was doing my normal Monday routine, injecting the metoject into my left thigh. As soon as i did i seemed to get a dead leg in the thigh area. Over the next week it never really went a way. In early December i had to go to hospital because i couldnt walk.

I had been on Methotrxate since May of last year, both tablets and then metoject pens. I am also on HRT evoril sequi . And prednisone 2.5mg a day currently as I have been tapering off. I noticed some hair loss with the methotrexate , but now its just got worse and really upsetting me.

I have been told to stop my meds because I have to have a lumpectomy on 8th May 🙄 I had to stop my Tocilizumab and Sulfasalazine 4 weeks before and my Metoject 2 weeks before. I also had to stop other meds too: HRT (for good) and statin.

Hi, I have just collected my prescription and been given Nordimet instead of my usual Metoject. The actual device is different from the Metoject which I had to go to the hospital for training to use. Has this happened to anyone else and should I use it without being shown how?

Hi Does anyone know how long Methotrexate / Metoject stays in your system . I have been having unwanted symptoms for a few months and now advised by my Rheumatology Clinic to stop taking it straight away

I have reported to my pharmacist and Metoject. Has anyone else had problems or have I lost my technique?

Has anyone else had problems with metoject pens? I have used them fine in the past but just had a couple which either were very tough to click and/or spurted onto skin rather than into. Have I just lost the techniqe or have others had problems lately?

Has anyone else suffered with these Metoject pens?

Hi Everyone, Just wondering if anyone has experienced going from 20mg to 25mg Metoject injections? I have been on 20mg for nearly 2 years which has worked quite well for me but sadly have now had a prolonged flare which is affecting nearly all finger joints in both hands, wrists and my ankle.
