Metoject pen - faulty?

hi, just wondering if anyone’s experienced this before. Been using metoject for a while now, about a year. A few weeks ago I got my delivery, & every single week when I pull the yellow top off, a few globs come out of the needle & sit in the plastic casing around the needle. Hmmmm. I’d not had this happen (other than once) with any of the pens before these in this delivery. It’s freaking me out tbh. I hate injecting as it is, this makes it all the more stressful. There’s always extra yellow stuff at the sight of the injection when I press with my cotton wool. So, is this normal? Have I got a faulty batch? It’s every pen, it seems. Eek. Thank you.

it happens. Particularly in hot weather when it is very fluid. Leave the pen a few extra seconds before you take it off your skin.

(I’ve been injecting it 10 years now)

Hi,peacox, I have had a mtx pen completely empty when I presses the pen to my skin, no neddle went in to the skin just the yellow gunk when went everywhere. Has to get dispose of my sheet as I was sat on the bed, what a mess to clear up. Sharps box was full. But its neacmver happened again. Rhumatolagy had neaver heard of it happening befor, trust me to have a fault pen.

if any time pen appears faulty it’s best to contact people who send them.I had a faulty pen before so replacement was sent

that’s the thing, I’m not sure if they’re faulty as every single one does the same thing.

Sound faulty batch to me. Only happened once in about 8 years. MTX is cytotoxic so perhaps be a bit careful with the 'free' liquid. When I started, about 20 years ago' I was supplied with a plastic apron, gloves and a mask in case of spills but that is probably OTT!

That's normal enough I find. Wouldn't worry about it tbh. I don't mind the mtx the biologic hurts and I have to steal myself for that one 🙈🤣
