Hi,
I am currently on 40mg of Adalimumab every 2 weeks but it is not working, the hospital have decided that an infusion of Rituximab is the next step, has anybody else had this treatment and did it work?
Hi,

Oh yes ! Rituximab works very well, I am sure you will get many replies confirming that.
Rituximab worked really well for me, better than anything else I have tried.
Hi, I was on Rituximab and it did not help me at all. Was on Enbrel (Entanercept) for 14 years . It was a great treatment for me for 14 years. Then stopped working after I had my second knee replacement operation. Had several other biologics which didn’t really help. My previous one was Tocilizumab. Have just started Imraldi (Adalimumab) pen injections on Monday. So must wait up to 12 weeks to see if it helps. We are all different and react differently.
How long were you on Adalimumab for? I suppose it all depends on how advanced the RA is. Rituximab could work for you so you need to try it. Good luck.
PS: I am sero negative, so not sure whether it makes any difference if one is sero positive for RA.
Hi. I’m in a very similar situation to you having started on Adalimumab in June last year and stopped it in January when my consultant decided it was not working. However I have my first Rituximab infusion this coming Monday - delay due to me wanting to have shingles and Covid jabs before starting it- so cannot tell you how it’s going to work. I really hope it does - and that it does for you too.
I’ve been having Rituximab for 2 years now
It took along time to work - but has been brilliant since it took effect. I’ve had No side effects and no infections 🤞
Hi LTC1607,
Thanks for getting in touch. Am sorry it is not working for you… such a disappointment when one suffers so much of course.
I have been on Rituximab infusions in the past but it didn’t do anything at all for me, unfortunately. It does work for some people so I hope it will help you. We are so different.. Good luck.
hi LTC,
I’ve previously been in adilimumab then Baricitinib, then last month I completed my first two Rituximumab infusions. I understand it can take time to kick in, so I am in the in between stage waiting for it to do so. It seems on he whole it works well for most so I am hopeful. I’m sero positive RA & my consultant says it works better for those who are?? I suspect because they can see our inflammatory markers go down?
I found lots of information on here to help prepare me for it which was really helpful. When I was in the nurse said it was the rolls Royce treatment ! Here’s hoping 🤞 that it works for us both! Sending you lots of warm wishes.
