Not sure what to do!

Had shingles about a month ago, it’s cleared up now, started after taking abatacept first injection, had anti virals, not sure now if I should go back on it, also take MTX which wasn’t working good after being on it for 16 years, funny thing is my crp came back at 3 after having shingles and anti virals has any else experienced this be interesting to know thanks Kate x

I was put on acyclovir at half dose until getting the vaccine it might be worth getting the RA team to write to GP to get the vaccine earlier, it’s not 100% effective but it will help.

Hi Kate, I took Methotrexate for a couple of months but had no improvement in my symptoms so I decided to stop taking it. I hope your condition improves.

Thanks Guaita for your reply, lve been on MTX 15 years It did work well for quite a long time, but since the Covid Vaccine not so well, haven’t taken any meds for 5 weeks since l had shingles, mentally l feel so much better , but joints are starting to play up, so l need to phone rheumatology next week to see what happens next, what meds do you take now? Kate

I am on Prednisone 7 milligrams daily

3 in am and 4 in the evening. I am in pain but it is tolerable
