Hi, anyone on methotrexate also had feet cramp? I've been on it for about 10 weeks, and no bad side effects, which makes me feel so lucky, odd things like face spots and a little forgetfulness, but I am getting bad foot cramp, mainly big toe area, anyone else have this? Seems to be every night.
Thanks all x

I used to get foot and leg cramps every night and began taking magnesium - one in the morning, one at night. No more cramps almost immediately! I was recommended it by a friend who suffered from severe cramping & her doctor prescribed it. She no longer has the problem either. Highly recommend.
Hi. I have been on Methotrexate since last year. I also having foot cramping at night. I have found that drinking more water is helping. I believe that it may be due to dehydration. Hope this is helpful. Barb
I'm not on Methotrexate, but about to start it soon. I've been suffering with cramp in feet for quite a few years now, especially at the end of the day when I finally sit down and rest, now it's beginning to happen in my hands too? I may try magnesium and I definitely don't drink enough. Is that safe to take with methotrexate or should I check at my next appointment?
Cramp is so painful sometimes I swear my feet will stay gnarled permanently if it keeps happening they are contorted and annoying. X
Not sure as I don't take anything for the cramps yet, seeing Dr on Friday, and will ask then, I get it in hands too, but usually that happens anytime, then I grip things for a while, which doesn't help in my job as I fit meters! Permanently have a screwdriver in my hand!!! One thing may help as uou are starting the methotrexate, try and drink plenty, I've found lemon and lime water from any supermarket is soooo much better than boring plain water, I drink a litre with the metho and another the next morning, then atleast a half litre each day in between, with usual drinkseg, latte and fruit juices. Hope this helps x
Let me know what doc said on Friday about magnesium. I will start buying 2 ltr bottles and yes I love a hint of lemon or lime rather than just water. Especially tap water🤨. Yes your job would cause your hands to cramp up. Thats exactly it when you grip or curl your toes it strikes. Whaleroad I have wondered if there's a connections with ompermazole or naproxen?
Been drs, he's recommended some stretches of the foot ligaments 1st, and add a small amount of salt to diet. However he did say magnesium would be fine, if it doesn't improve. And as always plenty of water. X
I definitely will have to increase my water intake. So busy today I don't think I had 3 drinks all day. I do have plenty of salt in all my meals ( probably too much ) So I will try magnesium and more water. I hope the rest of your appointment went well too. Have a lovely cramp free weekend. X
