Please has anyone got an idea. I ,think I have athletes foot although having had ra for 10 years I am no athlete! I have been to gp,rheumatologist, dermatologist and podiatrist they all say that they can't see anything so dismiss it.keeps me awake, use cream and ice packs which eases the pain/itching but its no consolation. Thanks all.

Have you tried Daktacort cream. It works on my athletes foot

Athletes' foot is easily treated by using anti-fungal creams. I use 1% Clotrimazole Cream, obtained cheaply on E-Bay. Use sparingly on a daily basis for quick & effective results.

Thank you both for your replies. I used clotrimszole so far but to know avail. A plus though the pain/itching didn't wake me last night so first for months, so fingers crossed .

I’m a big fan of tea tree oil. Being a natural antiseptic/antibacterial/anti fungal it works well on athletes foot. I suggested it for my brother in law when hydrocortisone cream stopped helping his foot problem & it cleared it up. His feet were a mess so it took a couple of months for him, just mentioning as you may need to be a little patient. He still uses it as a preventative measure because it's stopped the scratching & subsequent bleeding. You can either use a few drops of the concentrated oil in warm water for a relaxing foot bath, though ensure it's pure tea tree oil as there are different forms, with added aloe vera for example. Or dilute with a carrier oil & apply directly to the foot. You could do this at night before bed & put on cotton socks, or, don’t laugh, put each foot in a carrier bag or plastic bag & secure around your ankle with a rubber band so they don't come off whilst you're sleeping. 😜

I’ve also used tea tree oil to treat athletes foot. I find it works far quicker than the anti fungal creams and sprays you can buy.
