Unless you have seen a nephrologist it is very unwise to Google CKD you’ll-die of fright and a lot of stuff is rubbish. CKD at 3b is nearly normal and no problem you won’t even see a Nephrologist until low 4 and that may be many years away. Kidneys age like the rest of our organs and just a few medications are adjusted by doseage and you should really take professional advice not tell them about Google information as the doctors do everything to protect kidney function. CKD is actually not diagnosed anyway just by function but as a long term trend. Please try not to worry and I don’t know what toc is but l’ve had biopsies etc and my function is very low 4 and it really is managed by the doctors really well and the medications are adjusted. Remember a lot of RA meds cross over for transplant patients so the RA consultant will understand your situation.

I’d jut add that the internet can be a dangerous place and there is a lot of scary information about CKD a lot of which is simply not true. All doctors will be aware of it and potential risks of medications but it is also true that otc stuff can do damage as well. Please listen to your medical professionals as it seems to you’ve even given very good advice and not to anyone on line. Kidneys are monitored regularly and one of the best things to do it drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. At a GFR 8 I ( I had a AKI) I started AZA and a biological was later introduced it really wasn’t an issue. Other stuff was but the RA was controllled and has remained so.

Don’t they just ! Do not be frightened by posts on some kidney websites as some are hidden adds to sell diets. Just remember in the UK we are monitored and they’d call you in if anything to worry about. The UK has really great kidney care and a lot of people don’t know their function because they are healthy or think they are! We get monitored and you’d be referred if anything to fret about and all our doctors have on their computers indicators when to adjust for low function , normally I think that’s when it falls below 30 but at that point you can’t have some stuff anyway like contrast dyes. And function declines with age anyway so we all as we get older have some degree of CKD . Please try not to worry and if at all still concerned contact your local Kidney Patients group especially if you’ve got PKD etc. The worst websites are American and I avoid them now as so much tosh, stick to the doctors advice and you’ll be fine. Best bits of advice I was ever given was to never Google and and drink of water to flush toxins out. It works. Lol xxxx
