Not had my off topic manic moan for sometime . I am afraid I just gotta let RIP.
BLOODY FOOTBALL!!,
Bank holiday weekend looking forward to it but it’s Groundhog Day for me with the add on of ini-berated men after football. My husband and sons follow not one but two teams .one here in birmingham the other in Scotland (don’t ask). So Sunday is the Scottish club they go to a local supporters club and can’t help over indulging and then I suffer the after match . Hubby speaks in tongues still can’t understand him after 40 years. Middle son will be found in the dogs bed. Darcy gets up in a huff throwing looks that could kill and every time I try to get him up he’s says she loves it 😵💫. Monday is the home match normally can’t talk to them after as they normally loose and you can’t even look them in the eye 🫣 so that leaves Saturday free . Just found out they have all decided to go to the local non league team and watch them . Even my son at uni is coming home to make a weekend of it ( he never comes home or rings 🤯) he didn’t let me know.
I’m twitching here with the thought of the coming weekend . I’ll be rocking and dribbling in the corner by the end of the weekend. Just thought I’d share xx

😂 I'm blessed to have a hubby who is as disinterested in football (well, sport in general) as I am. You need a sanctuary with all the luxuries and noise cancelling headphones 🎧 Good luck!
Same here as I'm not interested in football either, and thank the lord neither is my wife interested in female football. "The beautiful game"!?......it may have been that once upon a time.
I do like rugby though, but that isn't plastered over TV screens anything like as much as football.
Same here ,i absolutely loath football, and every sport imaginable, the mere thought of it makes me feel ill, all that chasing around a tiny ball seems rather infantile, dont see the point of it.
I've always loathed football and anything to do with it, for some reason being male, people think it must mean you like football. What team do you suport arrrgh! Lol
Good luck with that J. My hubby's a football fan but fortunately for me, he gave up going to matches years ago and all he's interested in now is the scores. x
Same here I often think Bloody Football! I hate it. At least he only watches it and doesn’t go to matches.
It seems to be on all the time at the moment. When Virgin raised their charges recently I suggested he call them and say his wife couldn’t wait to get rid of their service. I could easily live without a TV. What happened? He contacted them and not only did they reduce our monthly subscription - we have a very basic package that comes with TV and internet - they only threw in BT Sports! Why couldn’t they have thrown in something decent?
So even more football opportunities now but I don’t hear the ridiculous commentary and crowd noises now because he watches it at all times of the day with the sound turned off. I discovered that one day I asked what he was doing - he was totally engrossed - and discovered he was watching some stupid match or another. I just find it irritating.
I was hoping like mad they wouldn’t reinstate Linneker and his cronies and all the other commentators who rabbit on telling you what you are seeing. Grr I do hate it and don’t even start me about how much those overpaid precious prima donnas are paid! Or how much Linneker and co are paid. Grrr again.
just as bad watching it in the house no scrap that worse. Each in their own space watching on their televisions then I call dinner they come down carrying their laptops, tvs still on and then group chats on their mobile phones . I pray they don’t score as the noise is deafening and they jumping and shouting chanting all over the house… good job I don’t have a gun 😂😂😂 I have 4 men in the house sometimes .. one day you will read about me in the papers 😂😂😂
Vergin wanted to put mine up, I told them I was leaving for City fiber. I don't want the TV anymore, but we use alot of Internet. Ended up getting 500mbs for £32 a month.Always worth telling them you are leaving .
Had they offered me bt sports for free I would of left no matter how cheap a deal they offered lol
I would either go away for a few days or go to bed with some books/ ipad. Get snacks!
Much sympathy. The rescheduling of programmes so the football can be on is infuriating. Neither Himself nor I have any great interest in football, except his interest in our local team, but - gah! - Formula 1! Of all the inane, polluting, loud nonsense it's the worst! Luckily, he takes up residence in another room when it's on so I don't have to suffer it.
Love football! 😂 I did have a season ticket at Leeds but didn't renew this season due to cost, health, getting tired of sitting freezing my ends off at night games and the utterly tedious traffic jams there and back.
I've become quite reclusive these days and have come to like just keeping tabs on the score at home, in the warm...
Poor Leeds are.as bad as Everton i like the footy but hate the battles the last 2 years Everton have gone through nightmare hubby was devoted at the Everton v Newcastle game yday heartbreaking as long as Liverpool don't get in the top 4 which they won't makes my life easier . Hubby will be absolutely heartbroken over Everton.
Yes - two big clubs who should never be in this position. I know an Everton fan here who I sometimes see while out walking dogs and we always moan about our clubs! We are awful. Just been listening to us get walloped again today so think we're going back down. Such a shame after all the effort to get promoted and the amazing spirit we had under Bielsa.
🤑🤑🤑that's my thoughts about football = hate the game and thankfully so does hubby and he is non alcoholic as well!!!!! Enjoy your weekend after your rant
I’d be booking a weekend trip away, or maybe going to see family. Leave them to sort themselves out. Thankfully my hubby isn’t interested in sport, and enjoys doing things together. You cook book a spa session for some pampering 🤪
Luckily for me, my hubby has lost interest in watching football (although he still plays 5 a-side in his mid sixties). He doesn't drink heavily, but the sound of the commentators used to drive me nuts. Biggest problem now is that hubby watches rugby - or rather, he PLAYS rugby from his armchair. Furniture and rugs don't last long!
women are far more sensible arent we. When we were younger my hubbie used to imbibe too much (also footie fan…cricket…any sport really). The times he had his head over the loo 🤷♀️. Thankfully altho he still likes a drink it is in moderation now. Chin up! 😉
my husband will watch any sport male or female, track or motor, any team any country any time night or day! We once cancelled a trip to see the grandchildren as the cup final or something like that was on tv!! Numerous overseas holidays have ended in the hotel bar watching games at midnight etc, need I go on
that made me smile especially the image of you in the corner 😂 my husband , son and my son’s 2 teenage boys are all football mad and all except my husband play as well as watching.Knew all this when I married him 50 yrs ago and then having all males in the family. I’ve just had to give in . I feel your pain. Good luck over the weekend xx
I get it! My husband is a Bolton boy who goes up from Essex to watch. Also got ticket for West Ham as you have to support local team. I support tea cake and film club Do you want to join that will make a supporting club of two ha ha! Footy fruitcakes every one!
Thankfully my partner isn't a sports fan, particularly football. Each to their own, but one thing...I wouldn't be cooking. I'd be off out for a lunch with a friend / a visit to the spa, whatever, and I'd expect hubby and sons to pay for the privelidge of me removing myself and giving them peace to enjoy their thing...and I'd expect the kitchen clean and tidy when I got back....or else...and nobody wants to see a or else from me....easier to clean up 😏
I love footy and support watch the team I support. Unfortunately can't get to the stadium as before. Sadly there are ones like your family members that take things too far and make the lives of ones round them miserable, shame. The behaviour is selfish and beyond the pale, this from someone very passionate about supporting my team.
Pet but my caring thoughts are with you. Paul Hollywood a baker suggests taking frustrations out on kneading dough \nd perhaps a glass or two of wine if you're not driving. I tried it and it works for me. I wish you well.🐕🐕🐕
