Hi I had a bad experience with my consultant so I requested for 2nd opinion and got a new consultant. When I first saw her I had already stopped my medication as I had very bad flare up a few months ago and couldn't take medication. She asked me not to take anything for 3months again when I requested a appointment after 3months she called me and said my inflammation is nor.al so don't take medication at the moment.

Was wondering does this has happened to anyone ?

Well she did actually call you with her professional advice - so in your position - unless you have any unacceptable symptoms I’d wait a while & see how things go . I’m sure if you do get symptoms she will order some tests & see you pretty quickly.

Lucky you…let’s hope your original diagnosis was wrong & you don’t need meds after all!

Hope so

Yes. My inflammation, white cell count are all fine. I don't take any meds at the moment. I still have some pain at times, but otherwise I'm OK.

I’m sorry but don’t understand were you advised not to take medications whilst experiencing the thing they are supposed to prevent?

As before seeing my new consultant I had already off my medication and was getting better so when I saw her for the first time she said if its under control without medication let see for 3months and had a blood test just before to see her again after 3months and the inflammation came normal so she said I don't see why to start a medication.

There are rare occurrences of (RA) spontaneous remission.

I believe you may have replied to the wrong thread.

I was taken off meds due to severe side effects, despite it controlling my RA. The consultant said as I was symptom free at that time (in remission) and had been very unwell from side effects he wouldn't prescribe any more drugs at that time. And if symptoms did return he'd consider another drug.I lasted about 3 months before my RA started to return and was starting to hope I was magically cured. I've now been prescribed Hydroxy which I started today.

Hoping your symptoms free period keeps on going indefinitely. Best wishes. Seb.
