I am going on cosentyx and so I am going to get my vaccinations first. Then I thought I should probably get the crown in my mouth fixed because of the increased risk of it getting infected because it is cracked. I also thought I better make a dermatologist appointment because she sprayed precancer off my nose eight months ago and noticed that I have a hard lump that is growing under the skin. I noticed it because the one side of my nose now looks different. Am I being silly to get this all done first?

Going on cosentyx
Not at all. Sounds sensible to me. I hope all goes well and you’re soon on the new med.
Hi if you ask me you’re doing the right thing getting everything else out of the way before starting a new medication. Nothing worse than starting something only to have to keep on pausing it for vaccinations etc. Hope your new meds have the desired effect.
I’ve had to do a pause of 6 weeks after only having 3 injections of a new med, due to timings for my first Covid booster and flu and pneumonia vaccines. I’ve just started back on the biologic and I think it will be like starting it again. Three weeks on it won’t have done much at all. Not a lot I could do if I wanted my vaccines, which I absolutely did. Couldn’t get them before I started the new med as it wasn’t 3 months since my last Covid vaccine and the flu vaccine wasn’t available in July. I just reminded my rheumy via email what was happening re my meds pause.
Yeah it’s a pain isn’t it. Just when you want to start something new because you need to, you have to stop it and start From scratch again. As I’m only on mtx which is pretty new for me and seems to be working I’ve been lucky that I didn’t have to pause for pneumonia jab as it was given by immunology and they said I didn’t need to. I’m yet to sort covid booster out because I want to be stable with mtx before it knocks me back again. Have to bite the bullet soon though. I definitely don’t want to start back at square one after being unstable and rife inflammation playing havoc for so long I’m just pleased not to be in so much pain but I know it’s different with biologics.
