PIP renewal : has anyone done a PiP form? I’m due for... - NRAS
PIP renewal
thanks.
No you don’t need to tell them about work, I was asked at my initial assessment but not since.
what did you say?
I told them about my job at the time.
what was their response when said about work when you told them?
they just write what you say down, they just went on to another question. This was my initial assessment. For a renewal you don’t need to write anything about work, just focus on the questions. For my renewal last year I didn’t have an assessment they just rang to clarify an answer. Nothing about work.
Just answer the questions as honestly as you can, providing detail about the restrictions RA puts on your life.
You do need to be able to undertake the activities asked for in the PIP form
Safely
To an acceptable standard
Repeatedly
In a reasonable period of time (no more than twice as long as a person without difficulties)
But no need to provide extra information if it is not asked for.
Remember, PIP is still paid to people who work.
Citizens Advice can help you, it might be worth a call ?
You can still claim Pip if you work but there is no specific question about work so you don't have to mention it unless it's relevant. Its more about how you manage the difficulties you face day to day. You qualified before so unless you have improved dramatically just reiterate what you said when you applied last time and tell them about changes, if any, in your condition Eg if your medication has changed or if you have additional problems or needs. Refresh your memory with the pip guidance booklet that you can order from NRAS. Good luck.
pIP is not mean tested and I was awarded even when working. It is about your health and needs as such
nothing to worry about as long as your consultant/ GP confirms your condition hasn’t changed and your on infusions you shouldn’t have any problems. I think you have a choice now to go into clinic or have telephone assessment or video assessment contact them and ask for the assessment that suits you.
do they not say they want you need to come in for assessment? If they tell me they want me in for assessment who do I do?
Hi Naju. Put ‘PIP’ into the NRAS search bit and you will find lots of useful help and advice. Good Luck. Remember to focus on your restrictions not your diagnoses.

and whilst on the subject of PIP ...
PIP is not means tested as it ourely relates to your ability / inability to do certain things. As such it isn't necessary to tell them how many hours you work. You only need to say if your health changes either by getting better or worse.
