I was diagnosed just over a year ago with RA I will be starting my 4th biological treatment in a week or 2, the other 3 didn't work for me, I'm going to apply for pip should have done sooner but didn't , my question is if I apply for pip and the new meds start to work before application is completed does this affect the claim, how do you explain how bad you are if starting to feel better (as it may be temporary) hope this makes sense brain fog today cant think straight, also read about needing consultants reports for pip, how do you get those.
Many thanks Jen

I would just ring them minty, that’s how I got mine. You can order online off their website but I ve done this recently for couple of other booklets and haven’t turned up.
Similar to me.starting 4th biologic as others didn't work but I do claim.says you have to inform if you improve. At my assessment I said my problems can be re ucurring even when get better for while so do I inform each time and she said only if you get worse which was very confusing
Good luck. It's so difficult to explain this disease to them. U need to fit into their boxes to qualify and as sometimes one feels well and has good days and some days are bad. I could not get this through to them and my claim declined. I am fuming as my bad days are bad and can last for weeks. U need to be able to prove u need help more than half of the week to qualify. They are not interested in how much pain u are in only how far u can move about and how much help u need. I've learnt that much the hard way. Have asked my doc to write a letter about my condition as the onus is on u to prove what u say and I'm applying again. Why should they get away with it. I'm fuming!
I am so sorry to hear you were declined hope you are successful when you reapply, I cant understand why they don't seem to want to believe us have they not worked out by now that so many people could not be making it up/lying. Thank you for the information it is very helpful.
