Hi guys, hope everyone is well, at least the sun is shining!!
Got my new pip renewal form through and was after some advice about filling it in, I take it, it's the same as when you applied for pip just a shorter version so do I need to go into lots of detail?
I didnt want to just tick the boxes and risk losing my awards as we know what they are like?! I've got a few weeks to fill in so I'm thinking the more the better?
What is everyone else's experience with this?
Kind regards
Ant

I ticked the no change box and then wrote a few details on the descriptors I got points for last time stating the difficulties I have. Sent it back about 6 weeks ago, so waiting to hear. I know it says if there is no change you don’t need to write anything but I didn’t think it would do any harm.
Hiya Ant. I've recently returned mine, I gave as much added info as I could, particularly about anything which has happened since last time. I did have quite a lot to inform them about, particularly my feet & walking issues, but that was because last time it hadn't been acknowledged by my Rheumy & only a month after receiving my award my Rheumy examined my feet & set the ball rolling for them to be attended to. I was a couple of points short of standard mobility previously so, this time I have plenty of written evidence from those I needed it from last time & to support that I added the written info expanding on the box ticked. Despite not receiving standard mobility I applied for a Blue Badge & was given one, recently reapplied for it & it was issued again for another 3 years. You automatically qualify for one if applied for with standard mobility & of course enhanced but thought I'd nothing to lose.
If you have any significant problems, or even anything you consider insignificant, it could make the difference between the addition of another point or two which qualifies you for standard or enhanced award, that is if you didn't receive enhanced in both last time of course. Therefore any extra info you can supply goes towards supporting your claim in my view. I also copied reports from the last two years to include as support as well as extra testing results (Neuro & such), Occupational Therapy reports etc I've had.
All the best when you have (or if you have) your face to face. If I can just say too, when I received my appointment it was in the same city but a different assessment centre. Because of issues with car parking, walking distance as it's the opposite side of a dual carriageway & it being on the 4th floor I checked on the Atos site for other assessment centres. I entered my postcode to see if there was an alternative one I could attend & there was, only 10 mins the road from my home, ground floor assessment rooms & dedicated car park. So when you receive your appointment double check it's accessibility & parking facilities if you're going by car.
Thanks do much for all the advice, I currently get standard rate for care and mobility so I didn't want to just tick the boxes as no change and risk losing then! It's a shame that us with progressive diseases which we've had for a long time have to go through this, feels like yesterday I was at my assessment meeting, but I suppose its crossing the t's and dotting the i's!
I will be as Informative as I can, bit it's always such a worry with these things especially if they don't look at your previous assessment notes, or you get an assessor on a bad day!!?
You're welcome. I couldn't agree more about having to go through them but it can work in our favour too, though I do so dislike being made to feel as though I have to prove anything. Apparently they don't look at your previous notes, or application form, but I'm not sure I believe that.
Let us know how you get on won't you? With changing venues my face to face was changed from tomorrow to 10th April with but it's so much more convenient it's no biggie.
I sent my form in December and after phoning them a few time as the form had been with the DM along time they call me back the same morning and did a paper review I had sent updated medical evidence I stayed on same award till 2021 review in 2020 I still battle with the 20meter rule they just won’t listen even through I ticked change
