I read that Moderna side effects could happen anytime up to 11 days after the injection.I had Moderna for my 5th. It was about 3 days before I had a reaction . I felt a bit ' off' too- not as bad as when I had AZ and Pfizer when I felt 'fluey' for a couple of days , with the AZ I had to stay in bed. This time the site of the injection got red, swollen, hot and itchy ,which I never had with the others.

Thank you for this answer MadBunny it has reassured me. My husband has now got the sniffles after 48hrs from jab. We never had side effects before. Take care

Naughty immune system making a fuss. Some's do some's don't. Paracetamol and fluids.

It was my 3rd booster, 6th vaccine in total (3 primary's… AZ March '21, AZ May '21 & Pfizer Sept '21 plus 3 boosters… Pfizer Dec '21, Moderna March '22 & Moderna Sept '22). I've felt fine after each, maybe a slight niggle around the injection site or achy arm but no more. I haven't reacted to the latest at all thankfully but my h did, from the following day though not day 5. We both had it last Saturday & it left him really fatigued & just off, unwell, but now, a week on, he's feeling better. The nurse at our Practice who took our bloods last week told us 5 of the staff had to be sent home in the days after they'd had theirs. She was off a couple of days but still felt iffy for a few days more. So it seems it may be the booster which can be reacted to potentially, more than the others.

I'm not sure what to suggest you can do to ease it, apart from the usual paracetamol if appropriate. I do hope you start to feel on the brighter side soon though.

this is exactly how I was with moderna, I have felt really rough for 24 with both Pfizer and AstraZeneca so was expecting that, my arm came up in a hot red area where I had the injection which then broke up into smaller red lumps the size of a 10p then it became so itchy, I googled it and I think it’s called covid arm, more common with moderna 🤨 it took me a good week to fell better, I am going to avoid moderna in the future.

my daughter had the most awful fever symptoms and had to take a day off work but that was the same / next day however she had covid in May so might be because of antibodies from that. Her partner who has AS felt ok initially but then was really off after a few days. Hoping that some paracetamol sorts you out if that’s appropriate and you feel better soon. I haven’t had mine yet so don’t know how I will be.

Oh wow! I thought I had got away without any side effects after my Moderna vaccination on Thursday! But today the injection site aches when touched and I have the sniffles (day 3 post booster). Hope it will all be resolved by the time I fly out on 5th October. I have my flu jab tomorrow. Take care

Hello Juliea793, I had my autumn booster of Moderna which is my 4th injection never had before, today I feel very rough, taste, joints, muscles, sore arm, headache and it was only yesterday. Having had the virus in July this feels like the virus except for the tiredness being less. I read somewhere that you have to have two injections of Moderna to benefit from its protection. It is a bit like the flu older people have a different injection to younger people. So, hope it works OK for us all. I heard that maybe we might have to have COVID injection twice a year not once like the flu one. Good luck with your latest injection. Take care

I had my 5th jab (Moderna) last Sunday. I was OK with the last 4. This time I felt peculiar and came out in a rash after an hour or so. It spread over my whole torso so I sought help. The GP reckoned it was allergic urticaria (a hives type rash) and prescribed antihistamines. The rash has subsided on day 7. It has not been fun, especially at night. Partner was OK apart from feeling a bit rough for a few hours. Hope you feel OK soon.

Thank you will do.

Will let you know. I too had pfizer for my first 4 and Moderna this morning along with the flu one. I am going to bed for the rest of the day to be on the safe side.

Water and paracetamol have been recommended to me for any adverse symptoms.

I think a lot of people are having reactions to all the various Covid vaccinations over all time scales,& there doesn’t seem to be much information why.

I have only had a reaction to this one apart from sore arm with others.
