hi everyone , I finally had my endoscopy after getting covid just as I was due to have one 3 weeks ago. And thanks to all your suggestions saying to have the sedation , I did and it was loads better, well worth having , I didn’t feel it at all, so thank you again, waiting for the results now !

I'm glad all went well jools, sedation is so much better as you don't know much about it. x

Thank you, I really don’t know why I didn’t have it last 3 times, I thought I’d just put up with it, silly really ! X

I had sedation (if you could call it that) for my first three (all carried out by the same team) one of which went on a very long time as it was to remove a large polyp in my caecum, each one was a painful nightmare. I dreaded having another after that but fortunately, the next two were with a completely different team who used stronger or different sedatives and I really didn't know anything about either of them. x

Tell them beforehand but you'll probably be given a choice.

So pleased that you’ve had your endoscopy and hope you get your results very soon. I always have sedation as every time I need an endoscopy I end up with the most violent headache and have had to have oxygen afterwards because it’s not that I’m stressed and forget to breathe it’s just I can’t so absolutely have sedation just in case there’s a bit of panic going on haha.

Oh no , poor you , that sounds awful. But hopefully they look after you nicely.

Yeah not my favourite procedure but haven’t had one or needed one for a while hopefully that will continue still glad I’ve had them done though but this isn’t one of those times to be brave haha.

That's good. Having sedation certainly makea it a better experience with no memory of it. Hoping your results are good.
