Endoscopy : Well I’m having my endoscopy on the 30th of... - NRAS
Endoscopy
It'll be over & done with in no time, particularly with sedation. Then you should have a better idea of what's what.
Let us know how it was for you. x
nomore i am not stalking you just seen his post i have had 3 endoscopes all clear and i am still being sick can you c why i dont trust what can i do as you say the endoscopy nothing to fear
Have they been gastroscopy, endoscopy just means an examination with an instrument (a flexible tube with a camera on the end called an endoscope. There are quite a few different types of endoscopic examinations, one being an gastroscopy (down the throat to examine the oesophagus, stomach & the duodenum). Do they they think it's an obstruction, is that what they're looking for but not found anything?
yes no more down the throat each time also one up nosefirst endo he mentioned about throat having spasms ???? 2nd they did a byopsis that hurt for some while after 3rd she i had food in stomach but putdown to my db2 cause i had nowt to eat for 10 hrs how this i am now to be treated as though i have stomach ulcer i think sent to specialist at private hospital still waiting for go ahead no letter no treatment after 2 weeks going to docs in morning to find out so in end this week I HAVE DOUBLED UP EVERY THING FEEL BETTER BUT STILL BEING ICKY SOS TO SAY
all full endoscopy's talking about other end but no volunteering want to get better but not ripped up
I recently had same day gastroscopy & colonoscopy & neither revealed anything, biopsies taken from colonoscopy, had sedation for the colonoscopy so of course it applied to th gastroscopy too but I also had the throat numbing spray for that. I've previously had a sigmoidoscopy, part of bowel cancer screening, no sedation for that.
It sounds as though it could be an ulcer, or gastritis? Might be an idea to check if your GP has received the report. Usually we're given a copy before we leave hospital, were you not then?
nomore i of course my docs had all the reports i am just amazed that its taking so long i am now at private hospital taking nhs so thats where i am no better off than 3 yrs ago
Has it been chased up at all? Could the problem in part be moving to Private?
i have not gone private nhs as sent me
nomore thanks for all questions and answers but i am in same position as started 3years ago so where next change docs to go with the salford together mob and c what they can do??????
Will be thinking of you, not pleasant but if you're having sedation you won't remember much. It doesn't take long and hopefully they won't find anything of concern. X
Hi Deejojo,
I've had 6 of these over the past few years and have always had sedation apart from one.
It doesn't last too long then you are left to sleep for a little while afterwards then usually a cuppa and something to eat.
Better to have it done to see what's going on. You will be fine.
Best wishes x
I had one they found nodules in stomach and oestophas. Done under sedation no problem at all. Don't hurt just a bit of a sore throat for a few hours. They are quick too and do put you at ease.
Dear Deejojo,
I've NEVER had a camera Down, my Throat, however....Up my Bum- yes- Up my Penis- yes- that's an Experience! I also had a 'Stent' (plastic support) removed, after my Kidney Transplant- guess where the Stent is removed from? Regarding a Camera, the Top End I have 'heard', comparing 'notes' with others, that it's fairly uncomfortable/ unpleasant but over relatively quickly. Some people 'Report' a Sore Throat, for a few days.
Please DO have, this procedure, Deejojo it may, very well, reveal a Problem that can be treated. Sometimes, actual 'treatment' is not strictly necessary. I have a Nodule, inside my right Ear Canal- now this known about, it can be Worked Around.
Please let us know, how you Get On, will you Deejojo?
Kindest wishes
AndrewT
