...or is it Finger licking good?...the mind boggles when you're on tramadol!
Anyway, I've been having trouble this past couple of days with my left middle finger locking nearly every time bend it. Hurts a bit when I have to straighten it, especially when I wake up in the mornings. Picked up one of those single finger metal splint thingies this morning, which is stopping me bending my finger so it seems to help. Wondering if this locking is a temporary thing and if there's anything else I can do to help improve the situation??
I would have expected this sort of thing happen to the finger/s on my right hand as it's much more deformed. Wish it had really as I rely far more on my left hand than the gammy right one.

Hi, I have the same problem but in my ring finger of my right hand. I have had this for a couple of years now and it is getting more of a nuisance. I’m sorry that I have no solutions but I’m due to see my gp this week so will ask him and report back!
I'm due an appointment with my rheumy before too long so will ask her.
Yes, I had middle finger on right hand go into trigger finger, saw a hand therapist and got a splint, just before Xmas. Saw him after Xmas and both hands had blown up => RA diagnosis, it actually was the hand therapist who sent me back to my doctor. Anyways, that finger is fixed, but now the same finger on my left hand is refusing to behave. The splint works best if you sleep with it on, because we tend to curl our fingers when sleeping. Mine was sorted in 3 weeks with a splint and some anti-inflammatories. Also massaging the tendon in the palm area and stretching help too. Hope it sorts itself out for you, cheers Deb
I have to wear the splint all of the time, which is a bit of a nuisance...just hope it does the trick. I'll get my wife to dig out the embrocation oil, she can give my feet a nice massage while she's at it.
Not allowed steroids because of possible side effects. Would definitely have an injection if I could as my finger is troubling me even with the splint in place. I've also developed troublesome nodules on the back of my right hand. My rheumy was concerned about my hands before these conditions occurred, so I don't think she's going to be too happy when I see her again, hopefully within the next few weeks.
My hands are not in real bad shape mine do lock though but it’s so far always only been for a couple days I soak it in hot epsom salt water and then splint and the epsom salt really seems to help tons I soak it just like a bowl of water and set the bowl on heating pad to keep water hot longer I soak about 10 min 3x a day after I’m done soaking I lotion my hands really good massaging them and that particular finger ever which one it is at the time I hope this might help you my grandmother used to do this hope you feel better soon
I had this age few months ago...it's called Trigger Finger..mine eventually locked solid.....I got a steroid injection from a hand surgeon in the the palm of my hand which released it...had no trouble since.
