After waiting a year had my appointment with the rheumatology clinic in September took blood and X-rays and said it was probably rheumatoid arthritis and said I will see you in 4 weeks and then will give you a steroid injection . So eventually an appointment for November comes through which then got cancelled i then got another appointment for December and then got a text on the day cancelling. I’m the meantime got a letter saying it was seronegative arthritis so now still waiting!! Pain in my hands much worse now so hoping it won’t be too long to be seen but so disappointed. I know there’s so many people much worse off than me so have to keep my chin up.

I’d give the clinic a call and see if they have a cancellation list, if you’re able to take a short notice appointment it’s worth doing. 🤞🏻 You’re seen soon.

All very well to try to keep your chin up but those who are worse off are often that way because of uncontrolled disease which is exactly what you want to avoid. I'd be pushing hard to be seen - if the clinic doesn't respond positively maybe it's worth speaking to your GP. Mine was great and pushed on my behalf which I think meant that I was seen sooner.

In your position I'd be ringing the clinic for, maybe, a cancellation, talking to the GP and having a (polite) nag. It's worth remembering that it's the squeaky wheel that gets the oil

I think you should call them or talk to your GP. You need to be seen soon because any damage that is done while you are waiting can't be undone. Good luck.

Hi, I had some trouble getting an appointment at the beginning of covid for a steroid injection and spoke with my GP.My wonderful GP negotiated with the hospital and did the injection at the doctors surgery for me. I did have to collect the prescription from the hospital to take to the doctors surgery but was all arranged and done in 3 days. Maybe your GP will be able to help.

I’ve managed to get a depo or steroid injection from GP before although it was a while ago. I’d check with your rheumy clinic to see if they would consider a cancellation list and see you pretty soon if your struggling. To be honest they won’t know unless you tell them. Failing that ask your GP if you’ve been diagnosed then it shouldn’t be a problem and the GP could perhaps have a word with rheumy on your behalf. Don’t be fobbed off by constant cancellations I waited almost two years to see rheumy pre covid due to cancellations and got so fed up of it I saw my MP not happened since although I figured I’d had the run around for long enough by that time. Didn’t do me any favours I can tell you.
