Tooth extraction & RA drugs

I am on Hydroxychloroquine tablets daily,

methotrexate injection once a week & as from 26th June I will be on an Amgevita injection fortnightly.

Do I need to stop all these drugs before having a tooth extracted?

All info would be very helpful 😊

I think you need to speak with your rheumatologist and dentist. Is it possible to have the tooth out before you begin Amgevita?

I am just about to embark on dental work. My rheumatologist and dentist are happy for extraction of root canals whilst i am on benepali and I will be given a steroid boost on the day of extraction as I take daily prednisilone.

Well my app at dentist (examination) is 18th June. Nurse can’t give me my first Amgevita shot till 26th June so I am hoping the information I can give to the dentist will help.

Well I’m hoping I can do that, get dental treatment done & dusted before Amgevita but was also concerned about my other 2 drugs...possibly having to stop them. I’ll check with dentist on Tuesday 👍🏼

I am on Tocilizumab and I have to have root removed as crown keeps falling out so need a bridge. My biological nurse said I need to be off Tocilizumab two weeks before and remain off until wound has healed over

Well I had a tooth extracted as an emergency while on Enbrel and all healed ok..Just talk to your dentist..Good Luck..

I'm in enbrel and mtx. I had root canal treatment last year and I was told not to inject enbrel the week before my appointments and not to inject the following week. I could start injecting again if there wasn't any signs of infection. This advice is for any invasive treatment...extractions and root canals. Best to check with your specialist nurse.
