Phone consultation today with specialist nurse

Hi, had my phone consultation today. I'm starting methotrexate next Fri ,15mgs to start with I'm happy, and apprehensive, as I just want to start to feel better and get back to work.. its a start feel like things are starting to finally move. hope everyone's ok 😊

I felt nervous too because I had a bad reaction to sulfazalazine in June. started methotrexate last Friday , so far I’ve been fine . Hopefully they will kick in soon for you and you’ll be feeling a lot better .

Hello, I’ve just picked up my prescription of mtx today and think l will take the first 15mg dose on Sunday evening so rather apprehensive too. Fingers crossed for both of us- all good wishes x

All the best I was fine just remember sometimes it take few weeks to get in your system so hold on there were all different but I was fine on it 2 years later still on it life is good for me 🤞x

That's good news. I hope you do as well on it as I have. I have taken mxt for 19 years without any problems and it has changed my life. It won't work overnight though. It does take a few weeks to kick in. Good luck.

Hi Sheila, that's a long time and it's still working for you, that's great to hear, I no it can 3 to 6 months to fully work let's hope it works for me

I am very happy for you and hope that MTX will give you relieve from the RA symptoms. MTX was my first drug, apart from steroids and I never had any serious side effects. Fingers crossed for you.

I had the same feelings of happiness and apprehension. I’m fairly new on MTX but have started to see some changes in how I feel. I still get very tired the day after the medication though. So don’t be alarmed. And please take care of yourself xxx

Well jojo ty for asking have a lot of fatigue at the moment and I don't know whether this is due to the Mtx or the arthritis am really having trouble sleeping take care x

Thinking of you and hope that all goes well for you with the MTX. It can take a while to become fully effective but know many people who MTX works really for them and hope this is how it is for you too. x
