I am well armed and informed, she was completely lovely,
I have my blood results and it seems I am ra positive, crp 47, ccp 500,
All other baseline results ok,
I have my script for mtx and she wants me to start that next week, oh and my folic acid to take two days later. Starting on 12.5 mg , and 5mg folic acid.
So at least I have a battle plan,
I told her about my wrist and tendon pain and my right hand swelling and that is a flare she said, I now know I have flares it's official...she said she was sorry that the Depo medrone did not last as I only had it 2 weeks ago, not as sorry as me ! never mind, roll on next week,
Thanks to everyone for all your support today, xxxx

Hi sorry to hear that you have a diagnosis of RA but at least you now know what you are dealing with and have a plan, hopefully the treatment will work for you. I know how frustrating it is to not know exactly what your diagnosis is and to not know where you are going with treatment. I have yet to have a diagnosis have been told undifferentiated inflammatory arthritis and have fortunately responded well to steroids but the not knowing makes you feel in limbo.
Hi. Pleased you had a good appointment. Hope the MTX works quickly for you. Have you decided what day you are going to take it yet? I'm on week 6 and its been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster since diagnosis but this site is brilliant for any worries or just knowing others understand.
Hi sorry that you have RA. Hopefully the MTX will kick in soon. You should then find some improvement in how your feeling. Almost forgot welcome to this site. Ever ones is supportive and lovely xx
It's crazy having to decide which day is best for you to feel a bit yuk on isn't it. With any luck you'll feel fine. I take mine on a Friday as its hard enough getting up for work during the week. X
Good to hear your appointment went well lovely. Wishing you all the best with the MTX. Hope it works it's magic really soon for you. Sending gentle hugs. Love Janet xxx
Hi, I was thinking about you today. I am so glad your first appointment with the nurse went well. I see my nurse as a comfort blanket. I do not feel so lost at sea between Rheumy appointments (unless she is on her hols).
I found it a big relief to finally know the real reason for the pain and feeling unwell for no apparent reason. It sounds like you had a really good appointment and found out everything you wanted to know and more. Claire x
She was really nice, even gave me a hug on the way out, a really gentle one ...
I decided to ignore,my diagnosis today and changed all the, beds and ironed like there was no tomorrow, well there may not be much of a tomorrow for me as my hands and arms and feet are complaining very badly indeed, my husband not known for his understanding is looking at me sideways across the lounge with a slight scowl on his face as he knows I am hurting but can't form the words "are you ok " or anything else that's remotely nice, it's his way of dealing with things but it's not very helpful, I am smiling at him to reassure him I'm ok ... oh God , you have to find some humour somewhere,
I am ranting a bit, don't mean to, I am going to muster the strength and grace I need to get up as if there is nothing wrong and get up the stairs to try and find a comfortable position to sleep in,
What have I become ...
Thank you for thinking of me today, I appreciate that, hope that you have had a good day, and a restful night, love to you xxx
