Does anyone know if you can take sulfrazalazine and ibuprofen or other anti inflammatory tabs celecoxib together or is it a no go? Partner has started sulfrazalazine a week ago and pain is getting to him a bit. He was able to take the anti inflammatories prior to starting Sulfra to help with the pain but not sure if can be combined

Hi, obviously check with the Dr but I am prescribed and take co-codamol and naproxen when required along side my sulfasalazine.Hope he feels better soon.
Hi. I've been taking Sulphasazine for 14 years. I also take prescribed Naproxen which is anti inflamatories. I would always say don't take anything before getting medical advice. You could run it past your chemist as a start
I agree it should be checked for each individual but I've often added prescribed naproxen and co-codamol or paracetamol with my sulphasalazine, including when methotrexate and hydroxychloroquine were taken with them all. Hope your partner soon feels better.
Don't like giving advice on meds but I was prescribed sulphasalazine and 2x800mg of bruffen retard daily which is a slow release anti inflammatory drug by my consultant when I was first diagnosed.
You can check drug interactions in BNF which is what pharmacists use . It will always give the slightest interaction so you should check with your GP as they have greater experience of drugs in normal usage and can order any blood tests if required if drug combinations are being prescribed.
