Been at work this week and it's been the hardest so far. A nightmare at work cooking breakfast for so many ongoing people coming in. I cannot move, pain everywhere, feet, legs with shooting pain up them. My hands, knuckles, wrist in agony! I have both my wrist braces on to no avail! I have taken my maximum of pain killers and naproxen. I even put ibuprofen gel on my feet so I could actually walk! Even my elbows are hurting. I will be ringing my rumey nurse up on Monday for advice or a steroid shot! Thanks for listening guys brake care everyone. 🙂

Pain and swelling
Kitchen work and RA are hard going I was on the floor every time I went home from my job and even more if I had to fill in for a cook if they did not show up. All the lifting and carrying it was way too much for me. I was a Manager but some days I had to roll up the sleeves and help and even being the barista killed my hands. Good luck finding a solution x
Thank you for your reply. I ham doing 4 days a week now now which is better, but they have put me on 5 days next week because someone is on holiday. I don't know how I am going to manage really!
Feel for you. I used to be so bad by the time I got home epsom baths and soak and early to bed!
A bath would be lovely, but I cannot get out of the bath anyone as have no strength in my hands or arms! So frustrating!
I honestly don't know how you manage, I hope you have a good sleep 😴
I really can't imagine having to cope with all that 😢 You deserve a 🏅but I suppose that at some point you're going to have to think seriously about what is realistic long term? 🤔 Is your RA uncontrolled in general? I think that a phone call to your rheumy nurse is definitely in order; is a conversation with your employer about a lighter work load out of the question?
Gosh Carolsos , you do sound in such a bad way , how awful to have to work in so much pain and discomfort . I really feel for you. I’m lucky in the sense I’m now retired , my back and feet couldn’t have coped. Well done to you for soldiering on so well . I hope you get the medical help that you need from Monday.
I wish I could wave a magic wand. Sounds just too much for your RA at the mo. 😢💗
Oh no, so sorry to hear this 😢 I think your body is trying to tell you something. I know you’ve not been back at work that long, but it’s obviously a real struggle. Can you take any time off in the next few weeks? I agree with the suggestion that some steroids might be necessary to see you through this bad patch.
I also agree with boxerlady about looking at the long term picture. I know we can’t all afford to give up work (I certainly have a lot of mortgage still to pay off), but it might be worth taking a step back and considering all your options. Sending you my best wishes 🌺
Sounds awful for you. Think you’re in need of short term rheum appointment and a long term change of employment plan
You are a real champion, Carolsos! Just reading what you are doing makes me think how fortunate I am to work from home. As mentioned, can you change the script? Perhaps lighter work as this would be taking its toll on your mental health and joints eventually. I sincerely hope you can find something that works for you! Health first - your employers will not care when you burn out; honestly, they won't. Make a plan. -Best, Hessie ☺️
Oh sweetheart I am so sorry to hear how much pain you are in. Definitely do ring your rheumy team for a steroid injection at the very least. It is a fine balance with trying to work especially with a job like yours. Thinking of you xx
