I'm struggling at the moment with painful hands, wrist and feet/ankles. I'm starting to feel like I am taking a lot of painkillers. Does anybody have any suggestion for pain relief ??? I'm also struggling with the fatigue that comes with a flare-up. xx

Are you just taking painkillers? There are so many meds to help the underlying causes and the best thing is to see your doctor and get referred to the rheumatologist. Look at the NRAS and Arthritis research UK website. Good luck

Hi - I had a spell when my right hand and wrist where extremely painful and I was taking a lot of painkillers. I found a wheatbag warmed and wrapped round the hand and wrist did help a lot at times, also you can wrap them round you ankle. Also as has been talked about on here before, a wax bath for your hand is also very helpful too and can relieve some of the pain. They can be purchased on Amazon and EBay. Hope you get some real relief soon as I know how bad it can get and it does wear you down. Re the fatigue, don't think there is much you can do about it, just another horrible side effect of this terrible disease, I find I just have to give in to it and wait for it to subside. All my best wishes to you and hope you get some relief soon xxx

I've just bought a couple of heat mitts off Amazon. They aren't sold in pairs tho! Quite heavy but oh so soothing. I have big hands anyway and there is plenty of room to take them even when swollen. Would love to sit with them on all day if practical. Good luck finding something to give you relief.
