Benepali shielding and vaccination

Has anyone on Benepali be told to shield? And have you had your vaccination yet?

Here is list of vaccine groups, if under 65 with no other diseases then you’ll be group 6 which hasn’t started yet. And unlikely to be in shielding group although this is not consistent.

I am on benepali (only for 1 month so far) and wasn't told to shield by rhematology when they prescribed it.

I'm in my 40s and haven't heard anything about my vaccination date. I have a rhemy appointment next week so will enquire 😉

Rumour is schools go back in March so I'm getting twitchy as I have 2 children at school and I've been resembling a hermit for the past few months and keen to get vaccination but hey who doesn't!

Thats so weird as I started Benepali last April just few weeks into lockdown and was told to shield. Even got a letter from hospital telling me to shield.

I was on benepali and told to sheild from the 1st lockdown, my RA is not controlled and I have very low nutraphils and been on steroids since last year. I am due to have the vaccine this weekend.

I inject Benepali and Methotrexate and have been told to shield since last May. I also have Adrenal Insufficiency and I had my first vaccination on my 57th birthday in January.

Hey, I had similar issues with not knowing where I stood through all of this as I was diagnosed mid 2020 and not sure if I just fell through the gaps because of Covid 🤷‍♀️ I have just been told yesterday by my GP I should be shielding due to my medication and my rheumy dept at hospital put this on their website, maybe your area/hospital has something similar? Not sure if it helps because I’m not familiar with the medication you are taking. Hope you get some clarity soon x

Hi I’m on benepali and have shielding letter and have had my vaccine, but also on sulphasalazine as well. I was missed on first lock down to shield for some reason but I think there was quite a few that were missed.

Yes I have been told to shield again until the end of March and I had my first vaccine twice weeks ago..

Call your doctor. I did, asked them if I came in the vulnerable group ie5. Which they are vaccinating. Had my jab in 2 days

Thank you so much for all your replies I slipped through the net so am not shielding and have my first vaccine booked for next Tuesday 😀 did anyone stop their benepali before and after the vaccine?

I did not but they were given apart benepali on Monday jab on Thursday, feel fine in myself apart from an aching arm so will do my jab tomorrow. I had AstraZeneca jab.

Hi Iv been on benepali for some 6 months or so now had both my covid vaccines & didn’t experience any problems with either however I did receive a letter about 3 weeks after my first vaccine asking me to participate in a survey as the covid vaccine may not have worked due to my meds I didn’t further it as I said iv been fine.
