Benepali and Vaccines

Has anybody had the covid vaccine who are on Benepali injections yet x

I had it last week. The Oxford one. I hardly felt it and apart from a slight dizziness that afternoon I had no side effects. My daughter in law, young, fit and healthy, had hers the same day as she is front line health care staff, and she had mild flu like symptoms for 24 hours.We were given an leaflet about side effects (Scottish Government) and according to the information given her reaction was not uncommon.

Thank you for reply just wondered as our immune system is surpressed due to the Benepali x

Did you have to stop your biologic before the injection Creakywrists?

No I didn't. I had very short notice of the vaccination and had had both Benepali and Methotrexate in the week prior to having it. However I will not have Methotrexate this week as my rheumatologist suggested I could hold back 2 doses after the vaccine if I chose. I’m on 20gm and when I’ve stopped it in the past it’s taken 3 weeks or so before I start to feel it in my joints. He didn’t suggest that I should stop Benepali though.

That’s good to know you can have it at short notice and not have to stop beforehand 😊

Yes I have on Benapali and methotrexate I didn't stop either and have had no side effects apart from a sore arm the next day .

So glad you asked this as this is what I am on , was going to ring Rheumatologist to see if i need to stop my injection, I'm just concerned if i end up getting an appointment on same day i usually do my injection. Mind you i can just move it along a day ,but I'll ring them up to check.I'm still waiting I live on the Wirral , my 98 year old mum has had both of hers im her official carer ,and just hope I get it soon.

As it's pretty bad here and an awful.lot of peolpe I know have had it got it or in hospital as we speak. And most have been very unwell. I'm 56 well just , we are all same age in my group of friends one in hospital has no underlying health conditions.

So my point being is have the vaccine

I can not wait .

I've had the covid jab and am on amgevita injection. Nurse said it was ok cos not a 'live' injection

I’m on benepali and small dose of leflunomide. had my jab 2 weeks ago, sore arm for a couple of days tired for a day or so but that could just be the RA. I had the Pfizer one. Wasn’t told to stop the benepali or leflunomide x

Hi I think we are classed as 4 in the running for a vaccination my doctor informed me that I will be hearing soon as my surgery is just finishing the people in class 3 but we are a small area and larger population areas may be slower I am also on benepali 👌

Has anyone had their third vaccination yet, on Benepali & Methotrexate? Got the paperwork through recently, one lengthy one from Government & one from local CCG. I had to stop both few weeks ago as had really bad cold, asthma resurfacing (more damp in my council flat not helping) cough linked to that. Was starting to feel the Rheumatoid Arthritis & more flare up, so don’t want to stop again at present. Others from months ago seem to have been ok. Was told at flu jab at surgery last year, to stop Methotrexate for couple if weeks, this had been a very recent recommendation, the doctor said.
