PIP appointment finally arrived!

Good morning everyone,

So a text has popped through to say that I have got a telephone appointment regarding my PIP application. It’s a morning appointment at the beginning of next month and I’m now equally relieved and nervous. I applied back in August so this has been a long time coming.

A couple of questions for those that have been through it. Approximately how long after the interview do they let you know their decision and approximately how long will the interview last? It takes me a while to come round in the morning due to pain and stiffness so I might not be at my best mentally!

Thank you Ajay this information is really helpful. Stay safe and well :))

Good luck .. don’t worry about not being your best in the morning this shows them how you struggle. Make sure you answer questions as if this your worst day and if you have more bad days than good please tell them .. the nature of this disease means we have good days but the bad days are the ones they need to here about. Don’t be stoic tell it as it as it is ..

I've only had face to face assessments but they've lasted around an hour, my review a little more. Telephone assessments I understand are similar, but of course it depends on how involved your needs are & how the assessor conducts the assessment. I received notification of my award a day over a fortnight, similar for my renewal but with the situation as it is it could be a tad longer. You can request the assessors report around a week after, if that helps at all? Always good to have this should you disagree with his/her findings.

All the best & I hope you receive the correct entitlement for your needs. Do let us know how it went, not only so we know but it helps others considering applying for PIP or like yourself going through the process.
