I had the pneumococcal vaccine while I was on a other biologic, Enbrel, with no problem. It is not a live vaccine.

I was asking about this a couple of months ago but with reference to Rtx. I had my pneumonia vaccination three weeks ago and that was eight weeks after my Rituximab infusion which depletes B cells. If Allanah sees this maybe she can advise if she’s had the pneumonia vaccination and if she had to delay an infusion? I know she’s a Toci-girl! xx

Hiya NK how nice of you to think about me.. hope your ok... great news we have the vaccine ...I'm good thanks all that stupid anxiety as gone as I thought it would ..no more steroids if I can help it I would have to be in a bad place to get it again hopefully I'm not in that place..tocz i inject weekly it's not ivi... it's not fully working yet it's been 8 weeks as you know it can take longer..my knees and feet are the worst..hands and wrist are not as bad knees have osteo . But I've come to realise this is how it's going to be for me...I can live with it...good job I dont have to work no more... as soon as the pools re open in our little gym I will be going swimming. .. hope.your keeping well... everything is ok. Xx

I'm on tocilizumab and have a pneumonia vaccination every 5 years. I was ill the very first time I had it (but in fairness my ra was really bad and I wasn't on tocilizumab then!), no problems with subsequent ones (when on tocilizumab). I also have the flu jab every year

Hi l had the pheunomenia jab and l am on Tocilizumab my rheumatologist told me to have it ..no problems at all ..good luck x
