I was initially on Benepali biologic for a year, it proved bery beneficial, changing my life really, however, stopped reaching therapeutic effect. Then px Adalimumab , which didnt seem to work. It took me a long time to recieve biologics, so i am reluctant to change to other meds. My doc wants me to consider Baricitinib 4mg oral. Not sure what to do, is this a biologic or not, in oral form, i am yet to establish. The other worrying thing is the risk of DVT and clots in the lungs, please advise, would appreciate

Baricitinib is a biologic. It's a new type called Jak 2 inhibitors. I started it in April. All drugs have side effects and it would be nice not to have to take any. Can you trust your rheumatologist to make the right clinical decision for you?
I can indeed, she gave me a choice of 3 to choose from, that being no.1, on her list. I am aware there are SE with all, thats why i am so appreciative of your support, thankyou 🙂
Even if people can’t recommend medication etc .. you can see those who have benefitted from it via a search on here. We do often say what has worked and hasn’t for us personally and why. When I was undecided re Rituximab infusions in 2014 I phoned the NRAS helpline and they gave me excellent advice and reassurance. Good luck, Cheryl.
