Tumeric Capsule : Hi everyone, any recommendations for... - NRAS
Tumeric Capsule
You can have a look to the right and click on related posts. There will probably be a lot to read in there. Also, I'm sure someone will be along here who can advise you. I have considered it myself for quite a while but it's the black pepper that puts me off - because it's an irritant, my stomach plays up when I eat it so I don't bother.
I take tablets not capsules. One word of advice though be aware that it can affect your heart so keep an eye on that. That is not to say don't take them, i do without any problem.xxxx
I get Vitality Organic Turmeric (1420 mg High Strength) from Amazon although it does contain black pepper (which I believe is necessary to help absorption) and I know that's an issue for some people. I started on a slightly lower does than what they recommend and when I found I wasn't getting any obvious side effects, built up to the higher dose.
Personally I'm not (yet) convinced it has much effect but my rheumy's advice was that it was "unlikely to do any harm" and also that he'd known a few people who have done very well on it so I felt it was at least worth giving it a try for a few months.
Good luck and hope you find it helps...
Yes, my rheumy told me in December that it couldn't do any harm and that it was good stuff. He also said that there are no known interactions between turmeric MTX.
Hi - as someone who bottled and sold ginger, also a big user of organic turmeric - I would say it is a complete lifestyle not just focusing on one thing. I can’t say taking turmeric (I took the capsules also) has cured me as it hasn’t - it may be keeping things tickety-boo. But no harm as I do take supplements, drink turmeric tea - garlic as great for inflammation - combined with my meds all okay. Take care, stay well. ☺️
Husband swears by Future You, he has taken them for years, they are tablets though. They are endorsed by my rheumy or maybe he advises the company, anyway, he is mentioned on the accompanying leaflet.
I decided I’d try them but I found I was getting heartburn after a few days on them so whether it was that or not I don’t know but I’ve stopped taking them.
I don’t know where you are but supplemented.co.uk are good.
I’ve heard the black pepper mixed with Turmeric tablets/capsules is better, however the black pepper can interfere with other medications.
I’ve started taking capsules from a UK company called Autoimmune Institute Who focus on immune related health issues. Too early to expect a response yet after a few weeks, but I’m optimistic after all the reports I’ve read and my rheumy supports trying them. I also drink lemon and ginger tea and include garlic in my diet a lot - all have anti inflammatory properties.
My functional GP recommended curcurmin c3 complex which I got from simply supplements. Really cheap I think they were £13 for 2 month supply. She said evidence shows they are just as good as anti inflamms without all the nasty side effects. I just started taking them on Monday 🤞
