Trouble sleeping, counting sheep

Hi everyone, sometimes I have trouble getting off to sleep when I start thinking about things. I've been using a slight alternative to sheep πŸ‘ counting, here goes. Firstly think of a topic, birds, plants, towns and villages, etc, then start with the letter A, go through the alphabet eg football teams, Arsenal, Blackburn, Chelsea and so on. As your clearing your mind of day to day things if you get stuck on one letter before you've found it your asleep 😁 it usually works for me, hope this helps.

Best wishes sarah

Yes, it's all to do with clearing your mind πŸ‘πŸ’•

Anything to get the mind to focus just on one thing is good. I count in foreign languages, do mental arithmetic or just repeat "empty head - empty head" on every in and out breath. It works more often than not. Isn't it great that we're all doing the same thing in so many different ways?

Good idea - a friend told me to try doing it with places I’d visited, and it definitely helped! Will try other topics now - never thought of doing that! πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

If I can't sleep I mentally refurbish my house/add an extension etc. πŸ˜‚ or I picture what my perfect property would be like, all the rooms etc. it usually works for me. Shame I can't afford it for real though πŸ˜‚
