Darn if it weren't for this stay at home/social distancing I'd be round with my plate! Your cake looks delicious and we have some talented posters on this forum. I noticed you've got one of your five a day in too! Enjoy every crumb and I in the meantime will just have to resign myself to a shop bought hot cross bun.
Ooooo.....it looks lovely
Looks lovely
Omg that looks absolutely amazing! 😋
And I can't get any flour.......sob, sob.
Looks delicious can I ask what topping did you use?
Lemon buttercream 😜I usually do a lemon curd cream but hey ho shortages 🤷🏽♀️
Oh that is soooooooo cruel!! (yep, I'm jealous, hence the grump). I love raspberries! I was telling myself it was cream under them so I wouldn't be able to eat it so didn't need to feel grumpy . . . and then read your reply above this. Hmph. the only silver lining is the lack of lemon curd. Love that too.
However, we did make some Easter biscuits on Friday and a Simnel cake which we finally put the topping on yesterday so can't complain. It's just the thought of beautiful raspberries (actually, anything other than apples which I like but am getting bored of).
Tried Jamie's hot cross bun pud (from his Carry on Cooking series at the moment). VERY rich but a treat for Easter Sunday.
Kinda forced to try other things at the moment. My 16 year old doesn’t like fish but one day all I had was tinned mackerel and salad with a hot sauce dressing. Now he makes it himself everyday for lunch.spent years battling with him over fish 🙄
Don't think I'll win on the fish front with our 17 year old. However, the older one, back from Uni, (trying to finish his dissertation and do finals long-distance) now seems to eat pretty well any fish. Keep telling the younger one that if he wants to self-cater at Uni next year he needs to eat pretty well anything . . . deaf ears (actually, he's bilaterally aided so both physically aand metaphorically in his case, bless him).
I think we will have learnt so much about ourselves by the end of this virus.
Sometimes we have to concede on certain battles.I have one son who ate the same things as the rest of us ... boy what a battle. He is now 27 (lives in canada with his older brother.) will only eat Pasta Tuna ,baked potatoes and meat. All that making him eat meant nothing so much energy wasted on a battle I obviously couldn’t win .. hind sight is a great thing
Oh looks yummy x
That looks amazing! How was the slam in the lamb?
MMMM OUT OF THIS WORLD 😋😋
