Jora wrote on my post that she doesn't use her oils now as much because of her disease. Well it set me thinking and here is the question. Whats gadgets have you got that you would think help others. Mine is a toothpaste squeezer which is a great help to me getting the paste out of the tube. I suggested Jora try that for her oils. Now everyone it is over to you what has helped you with your disease...............

I need to know more about these potato peelers 😀

Is it the one where they all go in a bowl together and kind of shake around over a grater thing.... or is it the one where you put them in a kind of stand and they're peeled individually...

Thank you!! Xx

You put them in a stand individually can be used on apples, pears, large carrots, parsnips as well as potatoes

Mine is a teabag squeezer, I have had it years, I bought it when I had a hand op. It has a claw you put in in the mug, push on a plunger and lift the bag out, no mess. Very easy to use. I did get it on line, can't really remember now, most likely eBay. X

I know I bang on about it but my little electric water boiler is my favourite.....no lifting kettles & you've always got boiling water on tap(!) for tea, coffee, cuppa soups, gravy & whatever else you need it for! I fill it every morning with a light plastic jug.

I love the idea so much I've got two....one in kitchen & one in the bedroom for my morning tea!

The one I like best is sold by Coopers on Amazon ...not tooooooo. expensive at around £40...but I think well worth it....especially on a freezing morning like today!

Another favourite at this time of year is a Boot Jack.....my hands aren't strong enough to pull off wellies/winter boots .....with the Jack you just place it on the floor (sitting down) then place your heel in a "V" shape & the other foot on the base & you can just pull your boot off. Repeat on foot 2!

Not easy to describe...just look on Amazon.....

Hi Sylvi..if you were asking about the Boot Getter Off just search for Boot Jacks on Amazon...I only bought a cheap one .......I don't still ride so don't have tight riding boots to drag off any more...but there are some quite expensive ones for really heavy boots...but the Cheopo plastic one suits me fine. If I didn't have one I'd have to sleep in my Boots!

Hi Silvi. Just looked it up, it's called a Tea Tool tea bag squeezer. It's black plastic, they sell it at Lakeland and on eBay £4.99. I just put tea bag squeezer on Google and it came up. Mine must be about 11 years old. Good luck. Xx

Hi Mary. A friend bought me a gadget about 30 years ago that sounds the same, its made by Brabantia, it's a jar and screw top bottle opener has about 3 sizes on it and the end has a inward sort of point and I use that for bleach bottles, like you have found it a god send over the years. X

the gadget helping you to put on your socks is a big help and so simple a bit off cardboard with shoelaces but so effective and the long shoehorn is a godsend, and also the grabs

An electric potatoe peeler 😊 ! I have been on Amazon already.

I love my " soap" dispensers for shower gel and shampoo. Have Ones with largish flat tops so a palm press is sufficient.

And of course supermarket delivery for all heavy stuff ( free at certain times)

Great post

My electric can opener, it's a god send and my shoe horn, I have an extra long one to save me bending down!

Well I just call out "Kevin" or "Chantelle" then I add "can you open this jar, etc" it works everytime.

lol

My 17 year old daughter has been my ' can opener ' but as she's planning on going to University this year, she bought me an electric can opener for Xmas. It's the best gadget at the moment but going to check out everyone's suggestions for the future.

Any suggestions as to how to cut up a butternut squash without causing more pain to my hands will be most welcome! 🙏🏻😄

sylvi in reply toKSee

KSee i don't know if it would work on squash, but hubby uses a potato peeler from Kleenezee that has a swivel head so you can change the position to suit your needs. Look up klenezee online for it unless you have someone bring a catalogue round to your area.xxxx
