I’ve been on Benepali for 2 years and Enbrel for 2 years before that. Make sure that you take it out of the fridge a couple of hours before you use it to allow it to come to room temperature. It really stings, even when it’s warmed up, so don’t worry that something is wrong. As soon as it’s done, the sting stops but it is intense at the time. Hope it works quickly for you.

I can echo the views from others. Been on Benepali for 3 years now it’s a game changer.

I do, it is fine if you just do with purpose and take it out of the fridge a good hour before so it reaches room temperature. Do not inject it cold. I prefer to inject in my belly, it doesn't nip.

Some relief in a couple of days, but my hair falls out when I take it and I get an allergic reaction in the form of a hot, itchy rash on my neck. I can't change meds at the moment so I am trying life on only Hydroxy...

Hi, I’ve been taking this since sept and it works really quickly. I did have to stop for a while as bloods came back high but all’s well again now. I’ve tried many medications and so far this is the only one I tolerate. I won’t lie I was very anxious about starting it but the nurse who came to do the first and second injection was very reassuring and stayed with me for an hour.

It can be quite stingy, I always take out if the fridge for an hour or so then hold a bag of frozen peas on my leg just before injecting and it seems to help.

Good luck

The pen is really easy to use. I took mine out the fridge in the morning to use at tea time, if it is cold it stings, so do give it plenty time to reach room temperature. Don't use alcoholic wipes either, it can make the injection sting. Normal cleanliness is fine, but if you want you can wash the area you are going to inject into with soap an water.

I also rotated injecting into my right and left upper thighs, right and left side of tummy. You might get the occasional minor bruising, don't worry about it, and sometimes you may see a small 'blob' of benepali seep out of the injection site, again don't worry about it, the information that comes with it, says the dosage accounts for a small leakage.

Good luck.

I use the injection rather than pen as I found the pen difficult to use in my tummy which is my preference over legs. Since swapping been really easy to inject. It is a brilliant drug as others have said, really makes a difference and gives you your life back if it suits you, so fingers crossed. Side effects for me are mainly sinusitis off and on and itching with super sensitive scalp and skin which are very sun sensitive... I am on MTX too, so lots of sun cream, factor 30 or above is needed and antihistamine before injection. I did check that with my rheumatologist that I can take loratidine and he said yes. In pollen season need to have it daily but other times just pre injection to help with itching. Despite the side effects I would not want to change or stop it as it gives me so much more!

Good luck

Thank you for the kind advice. If the pen doesnt work i will see if i can change to syringe. Have a nice day despite being on lockdown x

Hi Ms-D.. that's the one I'm on and I haven't had any issues at all, I rarely have flair ups, infact I can't remember the last flair up to be honest. I have had 2 total knee replacements and apart from them and having to shielding at the moment I haven't had to take any time off my work due to flair ups. Thats been 6 years since I've been on Benepali. Hopefully it works as good for you. Take care Jax x
