Hi, I’m experiencing a lot of pain in my knee and in the joint behind my knee to the point that it gives way. I can’t use my stick as having trouble with elbows too. Anyone else?

Hi sounds like arthritis. Mine were like that years ago. You might need them replacing. A rollator to help you walk is easier on your elbows than a walking stick.

Could be a bakers cyst, worth getting it checked out.

Hi Cornwall You don't say if you have been diagnosed with RA or OA,if not I would go to GP for a blood test to find out.I have RA & OA and have had numerous joints replaced & fused including complete knee & both elbows which have also been revised. There are a lot of professional people to help so please ask your GP in the first, I agree with strawberryshortcake a rollator is easier on elbows,Physio supplied me with one it helped me a lot. Good luck.

That being the case you be able to see an Occupational Therapist your Rheumy should be able to sort it.Good luck don't give up.

The problem with your elbow is perhaps down to the fact that you’re using a walking stick and applying all your weight on it because of your knee problem. This can set off tennis elbow and also golfers elbow (which is what I suffer with too). If you have to use a walking stick then perhaps using two would be the way to go as it will even up the pressure and not set off other problems. Other people’s posts were correct though maybe a rollator would be better if you can get one but I’ve found that I struggle with them because my feet don’t work properly either.

The answer to your question though is Yep but RA affects my hips, knees and ankles more than hands, shoulders and other joints.

Better safe than sorry though go get it checked out if you can by rheumy or GP don’t suffer in silence.
