Knees: Why is my knee giving way again????? And can't... - NRAS
Knees
Sounds more like OA than RD? You may have a bit of loose cartilage - even a bit the size of a grain of sand can apparently get in the way of the smooth running of the knee joint, cause it to give way suddenly or lock in one position.
Hi it is oa I only had the arthroscopy on 10th of December and he said he cleaned the torn cartlidge out but it's still giving way and the pain is still there x
I have OA in both knees and they are always giving way especially if I have walked (well staggered on crutches) for too long. The only thing that eases my pain is tramadol but I only take this when it becomes really unbearable as my GP said to be careful with it. I also use a tens machine which eases it for a while and warm gel pads I also find warm water helps (I use the hydrotherapy pool at the hospital) Nothing really takes it away completely and I cant get new knees because as the consultant said "Too Fat" (such a pleasant man "NOT!") Can you get some physio on it and maybe ask for hydrotherapy sessions this might ease it a bit. Hope you get some help soon. Gentle hugs Joolz.x
What an awful man I was told being overweight didn't help so I lost 2 stone and guess what??? Didn't make a diff?? I would report him x
Sounds as if he missed a bit when it was washed out! Not surprising when you think they do it with an arthroscope and it is a bit like the proverbial needle in the haystack.
