That’s where I have my pain VeronicaF my knees are very lumpy hard to tell without x-ray and blood test, it can be osteoarthritis also general wear & tear on our poor knees but when my pain is at it’s worst I have to sometimes come downstairs backwards, also walk with very stiff legs that won’t bend first thing in the morning gradually wearing off at lunch time, then about 8pm I find walking almost impossible till I walk around a bit. Hence the steroid injections in both knees sure hope it works. xx

yeah that's me too, I read somewhere that the bigger joints you need to stretch and small joints you need to pump blood into them by doing something with them

Had the same problem although no Dr would do anything about it unless I lost some weight. Then out of nowhere, I have torn my meniscus on both sides of my right knee. Had to have surgery to repair it and shots to add fluids in the joint to relieve the pain. Have it checked out?

Sorry Veronica but no-one can answer that. RA is diagnosed by x rays, blood tests and what is called signalment, = history, pattern of symptoms, etc. I think that if the history is consistent with RA, then it can only be fully confirmed based on the blood test results.

Knee pain in itself is not specific to RA as I guess you realise already? Osteoarthritis caused by wear and tear is far more common as a cause of knee pain especially if people have a history of a knee injury such as torn cruciate ligaments, and/or a sporting history like footballers, and especially in the general population if someone is overweight. Excess weight = far more wear and tear. Your doctor needs to diagnose this by physical examination first.
