So in particular it’s high humidity, low pressure and strong winds that affect us most.

Shall we set up a commune somewhere hot and dry and all move there? Where shall it be? Suggestions please!

in reply toLolabridge

Funded by the NHS 😂😂😂😂

in reply toLolabridge

Be careful what you wish for. Today 37C, low humidity, hot north wind and b****y awful - isn’t working for me (BTW for reference, this is Adelaide, Australia, October) 😂

How about Honolulu? Grass skirts, Hawaiian Punch, & sunshine!

.....think I could cope with the odd twinge there!

Just seen it on BBC Breakfast. I thought the very same... that Mcr Uni could have saved themselves thousands by simply asking here! Results collected from Cloudy with a Chance of Pain smartphone study 'around 10million people in the UK have arthritis'... so still no specific acknowledgement of RD.

I noticed that too, irritating isn’t it? Even my hospital who should know better, refer to it as ‘arthritis’ lately. Study funded by Versus I think. 🙄

It is irritating. I mean I have RD & OA but I just wish the two weren’t bundled together so often, too often even. Yes, you're right, it was funded by Versus Arthritis manchester.ac.uk/discover/n...

Same here & because one is wear & tear & the other’s a serious systemic autoimmune disease with other symptoms requiring scary drugs for life.

I know this comes up on here a lot & opinions differ but it does lead to confusion in the media: 2 tabloids quote the same piece today, saying treatment for RD is physio & over the counter pain meds & that it only occasionally involves other symptoms, like e.g. fatigue, seriously?! Probably got their limited info off Versus. Also a bit on latest celeb diagnosis at 44, but again referred to as ‘arthritis’, so who knows what he’s got.

I suspect it’s to do with money, if our 400,000 are lumped in with millions of others then we’re a drain on resources & need culling or something 🤣

It does make me cross that my local hospital are actively & vocally promoting Versus over nras & handing out their merchandise; I know whose info is more useful to me. Sorry none of this is anything to do with weather, rant over 😊

Which were the tabloids & who is it that's been diagnosed with 'arthritis' Keren?

I think it was Sun & Express nmh, under article on Paddy McGuiness (the celeb). Saw them online x

True ... although I understand those with any type of arthritis can suffer with changes in the weather...

nomoreheels profile image
nomoreheels in reply toLolabridge

Does that mean those of use with two types have double the pain?! Haha. 😂

Yes it often seems like it!

I've suffered with the weather all my life, even before diagnosis. Mum used to blame 'growing pains' Pull the other one mum, it's less painful.

You can't believe what sufferers say. After all, it's just anecdotal. (Bah, f in humbug)

I was always one for bucking the trend! I am currently on the lovely island of St Lucia. The temp is 32, the humidity around 85% and I feel so good. Have walked further than I have done for years and still felt good
