Well today I received a call from my neurologist and she found severe damage on both my cervical spine and lumbar. Waiting to see my rheumy in a few weeks to see what her plan of action is. I am for sure experiencing severe joint and muscle pain. I still have hope indeed.☺🌸

So sorry to hear that. The Rheumatologist should explain what kind of damage eg OA or RA.

I might push for investigation of my neck too, had DEXA scan but they only do hips and lower back on NHS.

Bone thinning in lumbar region, guessing that might mean damage elsewhere. But not yet osteoporosis.

Good luck with Rheumatology appt! 🙂

I do hope as well. Hoping that RA is not in my spine. How are you feeling lately

I am still battling with ulcers on my scalp.

I'm feeling much better thanks. Ulcers are healing well, so I started back on baricitinib yesterday. Skin condition is the best it's been for years with the help of antibiotics, and my RA has been relatively good this past fortnight and will hopefully further improve now I'm back on meds. About time too, I just hope it lasts!...........

You don't mention the ulcers on your back, and is there any signs of improvement with the ones on your scalp?

Yes some od rhe ones on my head had healed but still have a few and the ones on my back are gone at least for now. I go thr seasons when I don't get any for a long time. Right mow I am struggling with severe fatigue. I am glad you are feeling better yourself and back on meds. I always rejoice when I hear people are feeling well. ☺

Hi

I would have thought your neurologist would have explained as he's the one who would offer surgery should you need any. I had a really hard time with my neck (Cspine). The rheumatologist kept telling me you dont get RA there. I persisted for 3 years & finally got an mri & was sent straight to neurology..

Turns out C1-C2 needed dysectomy & fusion & was caused by Ra. The neurologist was fuming that I'd been left for almost 4 years & said the operation was needed urgently as it was so bad now it was life threatening. Ensure you push your rheumatologist & get all the information.

In July this year I had further surgery th C5-C6 dysectomy with fusion and cage. This wasnt due to Ra but Osteo Arthritis.

Hope you get sorted soon.

Wow☺ thank you for all your insight. I am going to do so. For the first time I wasn't able to sleep last night very well due to neck discomfort and pain not to mention everything else this illness brings upon. I won't despair tho for there is hope beyond what I can do.😊🌹 thanks again your post really helped me.
