inflamed bile duct with cocodamol

hi all,i am suffering much pain with bursitis,i have had cortisone injection that lasted just 4 weeks,i am takeingcodyidramol as i had bad experience with cocodamol following a hernia op.thecodydramol is ineffective and im advised the strongest is just 10mg.i cannot take cocodamol as altho it comes stronger in 30mg tabs i had a severe reaction to them.i had vomiting and excrutiating pains diagnosed as inflamed bile duct altho medics seem to poopoo the risk of this as they keep prescribeing it!i am desperate to rid myself of the pain from bursitis has anybody else had bile duct issues with cocodamol?

You poor thing! Just miserable for you, I really hope you get relief soon and your Bursitis improves.

I had my Gallbladder removed when I was 30. I had one huge stone, size of a birds egg.

Anyway since that time I cannot tolerate any codeine products of any sort. The agony I get is as bad as when my body was trying to move the gallstone.

I have to stick to a mixture of paracetamol, occasional ibuprofen and Naproxen as that doesn’t do for my stomach either. However I do well with Tramadol. I’m not encouraging Opioid use as that can bring its own problems but when I’m flaring with RA and all it’s delightful foibles. Tramadol for a short time does help.

Hi mandalou thanks for the reply, you mention you are on tramadol , its a good job you are unable to tolerate codeine as im told mixing it with tramadol can be fatal! Wish you well regards hoxtonchris

Hi there I was on 30/500 cocodamol and 50 of tramadol for years with no problems we must all be different well my doctor kept prescribing them so I thot must be ok, but it was a different story when I came off them my god it was hellish I was actual praying to god to take me that's how bad I felt but just to say I was fine on them 🤗

Hi mate glad you were ok with the mix i got my info from a tv drama that is supported by medical advisers.in this episode a pTient in a and e passed out after she had been given co codemol and admited to takeing tramedol and was advised of the consequences i mentioned. You say they were prescribed there fore thought they must be ok and in your case you were but my experience with co codemol was post operative and what did they prescribe on my return home? Co codemol i took them as they were prescribed and reacted again so severly i was rushed back into emergency care wards. Sorry but being prescribed realy isnt what we would expect,but i am glad you were ok!

Hiya sorry u had to go through tht,I think we must all be different, I asked my doctor if it was ok to take thm he said yes I was taking 8of each a day tho ah have to say I did end up with gallstones just before Christmas don't no if tht had anything to do with it they never said but in hospital they still gave me both and I has intravenous morphine aswell!! Just shows how we all react differently,sorry u had to go through tht got enuf on our plate with RHEUMATOID with out adding to our problems,I'm on dehydrocodine for pain,dosnt help tht much to be honest just trying to get by day by day, hope you are feeling better now and thank you for ure comment appreciate it 🤗
